+5¢
I would like to introduce you all to Xena The Warrior Geocaching Dog. Since Luckybear and I got her, our geocaching has changed dramatically. I am a numbers hound and will be the first to admit it. But lately, now that we have Xena going with us, it is more fun to take the longer hikes and do the caches that require getting out of the car for more than 5 minutes. Granted, I still have fun doing the other caches. Heck I have fun doing the easy caches as I get to enjoy Xena looking like a newbie cacher and sniffing around all the wrong places But back on subject, with longer caches, we get to tire Xena out, and in return, she gets us walking more. Besides all the calories burned, we get to spend time with our pup. Just wanted to share this with all you and happy caching in the future. Quote Link to comment
+GRANPA ALEX
I have to pick the days & areas, but wearing out Aussie (my 2YO Australian Shepherd) is a blast. I might walk 8 miles in a caching day, but he will walk 40 miles, running ahead & back ahead & back etc. Gets so exhausted that he passes out on the car seat beside me until we get home & he drags himself to his bed . . . it is great! +5¢
I just wonder if I can get her a geocaching account on the site as she finds most of the caches I find. If she inks her paw in the log book, can she have an account? I will pay the premium account if she can! Quote Link to comment

These are just a few; I've seen plenty more and even been caching with a few of them. (edit: I need to use that preview button more often...) Edited October 25, 2005 by DavidMac Quote Link to comment

+zoltig
Dogs are way cool and are waaayyy better than cats especially when it comes to caching and SARS. Did you ever see a cat doing avalanche rescue? Here is a pic of Jessie from our caching weekend. Quote Link to comment

Now I'm gonna have to go out and find a new puppy. Golden's are the best breed out there for companionship and just all around "good doggedness". GREAT pic!!! Back to the OP, congrats on the new caching buddy and by all means, she needs her own account. If she's anything like the caching animal I usually take, my 4-year old little girl, then as soon as she's been to 5 or 6 caches, she'll be able to run the GPSr and/or find the caches better then you'll ever be able to. Here's our pup: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=99...eb-4138c853a742 I KNOW she knows where the caches are - I'm just having trouble getting her to tell ME! Quote Link to comment

+jacobsen1
We love to tucker out MOSELEY while caching... We actually got into this because we were looking for new places to walk everyweekend and I found this site. The caches seem to all be hidden in places we've never been and so far We go every weekend with the dog pulling us... He hasn't found any caches yet, but he sure loves the walks. Here he is: and here you can see why he needs to go for a walk to use up his energy! The Jacobsens Quote Link to comment
hide & seekers
My Zoe-dog doesn't care about the numbers, only the finds, so she doesn't have her own account (also too hard to type, she says!). But I give her credit in the log-book if she's with me. "Hide and Seekers with Zoe-dog." I'm thinking of a placing a new cache with our geocaching dogs in mind. Dog toys for trading items, etc. Quote Link to comment
+BigFurryMonster
This cache is especially for dogs. And dogs only! Too bad the cache is disabled right now. Quote Link to comment
