Thrasher22
If I want to leave a trackable geocoin in my cache as a prize for the person who finds it, should I first activate it myself or just leave it unactivated for the person to find it to do so? Quote Link to comment
+AtlantaGal
If it's a prize for the person to keep, then leave it unactivated. Quote Link to comment
+joefrog
In my opinion... Prize -- unactivated, they do with it whatever they want. Travelbug -- already activated. Edited October 23, 2005 by joefrog Quote Link to comment
+Chaos A.D./aka Arlsdaddy
An unactivated travel bug or geocoin is more attractive...they can be the owner or keep it if it's unique. Otherwise, it would be just like finding another TB or GC to move along. Prize=Unactivated in my 2 cents. Quote Link to comment
+Thrak
Unactivated. I've only place one cache so far (Hey! I'm new....) but I left an unactivated TB Dog Tag as a FTF prize. If it's already activated then it isn't really a "prize" for the finder. Edited October 24, 2005 by thrak Quote Link to comment
+thBriGuy
Here's the morality question: Do you write down the number before leaving it, so that once it's activated, you can log it? Well, do ya? Quote Link to comment

+Husker
I wouldn't log it but I might be interested in tracking it. Quote Link to comment

No, I didn't even think of that. I agree with the poster who said it might have been a good idea to write it down so I could track the thing later but it's no biggie. I can always ask the cacher who found it to let me know when they release the bug. Besides that it will likely be released locally and I can go find the thing and then keep track of it that way after making a legitimate find. I have no interest in logging a bug I didn't actually find. Quote Link to comment
