+harrogate hunters Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 (edited) Just having a play with this..... potentially its good, especially with the overlay of caches However the rest of the world is crystal clear down to 1000 m but most of england is very fuzzy and basically looking for roads, paths etc etc is impossible What if anything am I doing wrong ? It appears that if you are in a brown patch you can get down and nearly see the people but if you are in a green patch you cant Edited October 20, 2005 by harrogate hunters Quote

+Kitty Hawk Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 (edited) Look at me, in the forums and pretending to work simultaneously. Edit - Oh yes, the topic - blurry as anything where I am. I just tried to use tilt on the spinnaker down in Portsmouth to get the full 3d effect. That doesn't work how you'd expect! Edited October 20, 2005 by Kitty Hawk Quote
Nediam Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 When I first used it a couple of months ago, very little of the UK was high resolution (especially where I live). Now there is a lot more high res coverage and my home area is now covered to the same level as multimap. Looks like they'll eventually get the whole lot covered (fingers crossed). The level of detail in areas like New York is great and they evem have high quality images of "Area 51"! Quote

Check out the grand canyon etc. Quote

+Birders Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Been using Google since it started but can't seem to get it to show any caches, even though we clicked the bit on GC.COM. Are we missing something? Quote

Are we missing something? You need to download the file "GeocachingNetworkKML.kml" which is found Here and then load that with Google Earth Milton (aka Moote) Edited October 20, 2005 by Moote Quote
+wildlifewriter Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 No, some pieces of the map are just higher resolution than others. The highest resolution aerial images available on GE are at an amazing 1 inch-per-pixel - of this building, and the area surrounding it... See if you can figure out where and what it is... -Wlw.
