+slurpey
The Stargate Network TB Cache is a serie of geocache around the world where TB can go in order to "transport" to any of the other cache of the network. This way, a TB from Australia can end of in Alaska via Holland... We basically do this out of fun; trying to help TB move around more quickly. I am the owner of the Dutch Stargate Cache (I am a canadian expat) and I have received a couple of TB that wish to end up or visit Canada. Since there are no one yet having a Stargate Cache in Canada... I was curious to know if anyone would like to create one? At a glance: the tasks are very simple: you might receive TB's from anywhere (my normail mail) and have to drop them in any cache in Canada and if you receive a TB in you Stargate Cache, you need to send it throught the network either via the on of the US hubs (cheaper post) or directly to the final destination. Anyway, if anyone is interested, please login to geocaching and post me a message (I'm always scare to leave my email on a forum because of spam) - my username is slurpey Thanks! +dolfin61
I thought of setting one up many months ago...but the post system involvement and expense scared me off. I"m in the Vancouver area and it would be great if we could get one here since the show(s) are filmed here. I ended up making a themed cache instead that most fans of the show could solve semi-easily.... An Ancient Message Quote Link to comment
+V-I-cacher
I have been in contact with the stargate-series coordinator as well... ...they are currently reviewing their 600 miles distance rule. There might be a new stargate-cache in the lower mainland soon! Quote Link to comment

+JFandC
I am interested. Unfortunately, I am close to two gates: 400 miles from P4079 and 290 miles from P4271. If I am not able to join the network, I would be interested to set-up something similar across Canada. Quote Link to comment
BC Tripper
I contact the Stargate team sometime ago with regard to setting up one in Vancouver, BC. Apparently, I'm too close to a gate already, although it's in the states... BC Tripper Quote Link to comment
+V-I-cacher
I got an email yesterday: as the Washington state stargate is closing, they offered me to open one in Vancouver... still awaiting another email with details. Quote Link to comment
QuigleyJones
If one is going to be put in Vancouver it should sooo be at the Plaza of Nations: B.C. Room. Quote Link to comment

+V-I-cacher
I'm little bit in a limbo here... ...apparently I gonna be switching to another job, and am not sure where that will be, but the idea of the StarGate cache is, that it is maintained fairly regularly. As much as Place Of Nations might appeal, it is not somewhere I'd be coming by regularly nor even once in a while. While I do not intend on just giving up just yet: Anybody interested in co-maintaining such a stargate here in Vancouver? That way it is assured, that the bugs are beeing moved, the cache beeing maintained and the costs split. There could be some brainstorming be done on what is "Convenient" for both operators. V-I-cacher That's actually a good idea, it is exactly what we did, none of us had the time and resourse to handle a Stargate all by ourselves, but as a team of 5 members on the same Stargate I can say that the problems as been lowered to almost zero. A good case and point, one of the team member is actually busy right now with a project, and he would have had to give up on the Quebec version if it was not for the fact that we are there to make sure things go on.
