It was a long time ago when I first got my coins - the Foggy Silver & Shiny Silver versions. Of all the trades & sales I made with them only 2 didn't come to me - this one & one that (I thought) was supposed to be a two coin deal. I sent two, the other party only sent one... Most my other trades have come to me (sometimes eventually) and I hope all the coins I sent out have been received. I don't always hear back from folks. If a coin I sent hasn't been received, I hope that the person I sent it to would let me know and I would do what I can to make it right. My problem is (on my own part) I don't keep great records of what I'm supposed to receive and sometimes I don't get the coin and don't really know it. Sometimes I know I was supposed to have gotten a coin but can't remember who was supposed to send it to me. This is all my own issue & I just have to get better organized. I keep MUCH better track of the coins I am sending out. I hate it when I make a mistake on my side of a trade. All in all I have had a great trading experience here. Ok - true - the bad ones do prickle but I'm ok. I tell myself "it's just a coin after all." CF30 *rant response ended - back to your regularly scheduled program* And the page will change soon enough! +Rockin Roddy Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 My maillady has been so nice of late, she'd smile and wave as we passed one another on the streets (she lives right beside where Tod used to live, I see her often)...so I was surprised when her wave was missing three fingers, and there wasn't a smiling face either today. I came home to find out why...poor girl! In the mailbox was a large priority mail envelope from Maldar, "the Ten Commandment coins BrierPatch donated for the Todie's Wild Ride cointest" I thought as I walked to the door....WOW, heavy coins these must be! Ooops, almost tripped over a large box sitting on the porch, guess I should be watching what I'm doing instead of trying to open the package?!? Now I understand, she's probably worn out from handling these heavy packages!! The box is from Sweetlife, it's my Halloween mission...and the box is glowing!! I'll not open this one until closer to Halloween (if I can help myself that is lolol). THANKS Barry and Val!! Back to the package from Maldar...why in the world would 3 coins weigh soooo much?? Well, that would be because there wasn't 3 coins in the package at all, there was 7!!! WOW, THANKS Maldar!! My good friend Maldar has again kindly and generously made my day, he's got a special knack for that!! The note reads that 3 are for the cointest (THANKS BrierPatch) and the other 4 was a complete set (XLE Anique Red Copper, LE BN, Antique Copper and Antique Silver)! Maldar, well done on these, some serious metal here!! I don't think I've seen a larger coin, these are HUGE!! WOW! You've brought a smile to my face, my friend!! THANKS Maldar and Sweetlife, you have really made this cold blustery day warm and sunny!! Quote

+Sparticus06 Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) Lorca...can I ask something? Are the candies sugar candies, or corn with sugar? ...or they are the candies you have to put it in the fire to eat them... These are only in the halloween??? Why??? They have scary taste??? Just kiding!!! I love this stuff. I buy a huge bag every year. Candy Corn is a confection popular in the United States, particularly around Halloween. Each piece is approximately the size of a whole kernel of corn, as if it fell off a ripe or dried ear of corn. The candy is usually tri-colored with a yellow base, orange center, and white tip, although the color combinations may vary. Candy corn is made primarily from sugar, corn syrup and honey. Carnauba wax is usually added. Although it is most popular at Halloween, it is available year-round. The National Confectioners Association estimate 20 million pounds of candy corn are sold each year. October 30 is National Candy Corn Day. Candy corn was invented in the 1880s and produced by the Wunderle Candy Company. By 1900 the Goelitz Candy Company, now Jelly Belly, started mass producing the candy. Candy corn was originally made by hand. Manufacturers first combined sugar, corn syrup, and water and cooked them into a slurry. Fondant was added for texture and marshmallows provided a soft bite. The final mixture was then heated and poured into shaped molds. Three passes were required during the pouring process, one for each colored section. Few changes have been made to the process or recipe, with machines now performing the tasks formerly done by people. Candy corn has taken many shapes, colors, and flavors over the years for different holidays. During Halloween, candies are sold in the single-flavored shape of a pumpkin, with orange making up the majority of each piece, in addition to a green-colored stem. "Indian Candy Corn", in which the yellow is replaced with chocolate-flavored brown, is sold during the Thanksgiving holiday season. "Reindeer Corn" is produced during Christmas season; the yellow is replaced with red and the orange is replaced with green. "Cupid Corn" is produced during Valentines season, in which the yellow and orange are replaced with red and pink, and "Bunny Corn" which is produced during Easter, in which many colors are made for each kernel such as yellow, pink, green, blue, purple and white. All info provided by Wikipedia And to keep the thread on track, I have not received anything in about 2 weeks or more. I have lost track. But I have not gotten anything because I have not ordered, bought, or traded, tryin to wait till GCF, Edited October 5, 2008 by Sparticus06 Quote
