Tb Types In Pqs

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to have a PQ give enough information to be able to identify if the TB in a cache is a regular TB, a jeep, a coin, etc ? This would be useful for coin hunters, and in my case, to see how many of each type of special TB there are in France (although "zero" is a pretty close approximation in most cases!)

For example, taken from a couple of GPX files:

<Groundspeak:travelbug id="190762" ref="TB2E92A">

<Groundspeak:name>White Jeep Travel Bug "Hannah"</Groundspeak:name>

</Groundspeak:travelbug>

<Groundspeak:travelbug id="133823" ref="TB20ABF">

<Groundspeak:name>RYDER 3 COIN #2</Groundspeak:name>

</Groundspeak:travelbug>

<Groundspeak:travelbug id="154730" ref="TB25C6A">

<Groundspeak:name>Chameleon</Groundspeak:name>

</Groundspeak:travelbug>

The first is a jeep, the second is a coin, and the third is a regular TB dog tag. But without a full list of the TB ids or reference numbers, this isn't obvious to software.

No. The current specification does not allow the travel bug type to be included. This is because when the GPX format was first developed there was only one trackable type. In future specifications (which will occur while we develop the specifications for Waymarking.com) we will provide additional details (such as attributes) which wasn't available first time around.
