davemem
Hi all newish to geocaching but not GPS, visited a chache in greece recently marked as a geocoin location (skioni cache) but geocoin (frank) nowhere to be be seen. Do geocoins often go missing? Quote Link to comment
+AtlantaGal
Yes they do often go missing, even when they're clearly designated as travel bugs. Was there anything recent about the coin in the onsite logbook? If not and it seems like the coin has been MIA for awhile, either the cache owner or the coin owner should mark the item as missing. +pdxmarathonman
Frank was reported to have been left by the previous finder, 25 days prior. If there are no other log entries in the log book then it appears that it was taken and not logged at all. Another possibility is that while on vacation the cachers who left the USA Geocoin lost track of which cache they actually put it in and logged it incorrectly. No, I have never done that myself - why do you ask? Quote Link to comment
