+Dream Cache R Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 This is an idea from an archived Terracache that had some great pictures of finds. Rock Cairn = Piles of rocks built by grown-up kids who get paid to build them. They are visual indicators that can be seen from more than a mile away. Their primary uses were to aid in surveying the country and to show the location of property corners and/or mining claim boundaries. Cairns must be at least 3 feet in diameter at the base & minimum of 3 feet high - except for mining claims and they must have the claim papers with the cairn. ">
