And it almost killed them not to smile for this photo...(really!) Allright James, details please ... on your way to the subcontinent again? Not much to say really...Marieke and I were in Atlanta her brother's 50th birthday and we couldn't very well not visit Laurie and Billy Bob while we were in the area. On the whole L&B have done well for themselves. They have traded up from their rundown SD condo to a palatial house with acres of land. On the other hand, a 250 cache pocket query has an 8 mile radius in that part of the world so that might explain the lack of smiles... Quote

We did a cache close to the green strip of trees on the right, and continued along the dirt road, from right to left........well, until we went back, then it was left to right! Splashette When Janie honks she knows what she's honkin' about. Yes the right end of that far-away strip of trees is where the trailhead gate is. As one can see it is a long way from that gate and up a very steep set of hills to the place where the panorama was shot. The reward is thirty-three hides on one loop but it takes its toll. The really odd thing is that the only place my body hurts today is the pads beneath both of my big toes. I sure hope that some weeny doesn't put another hide way out at the end of that loop. Fact was that I was about three miles from the finish at 4:00 pm so I knew how much trouble I would be in at home. Sometimes luck comes my way ... this time in the form of three young Marines that popped up over the road-berm with their mojo, tricked out Ford pickup trucks. They came in at the open trailhead gate and started plowing through the eco' preserve but not on any truck trails. They offered to haul me back to my truck at the road gate and I caved in and said "You betcha." Gave them forty bucks to juice-up one of the trucks, thanked them for their service in the middle-east, and high-tailed it for home. So that means that I must go back for unfound caches, luckily placed along the easy part of the loop. Sandy nailed me as soon as I walked in the door, big-time - "Don't you EVER ...." When a woman is steamed does it mean that she loves you? Poor ol', Harmon Edited June 13, 2009 by SD Rowdies Quote
+Let's Look Over Thayer Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) Speaking of tasty things ... Just keep in mind that a Cashew is not a nut. Ironically, many of the things we call "nuts" are not, botanically speaking, really nuts, including cachews, walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts, almonds and peanuts. Not only that, but most Brazil nuts come from Bolivia. Something to keep in mind when you are munching down a can of mixed nuts. Edit: Darn typos. They'll drive you nuts!
