The interesting thing is that this is not the actual equator, in spite of the claim on the sign. According to my GPS (displaying an EPE of 15 feet), this line is ~6/100ths of a minute (360 feet) south of the actual equator.

G.P.S. - That must be the Guayaquil Positioning System - That explains it.

Very cool BTW! (This one and the 15K one)

Tell the truth James, did you move the sign?

Ohhhh, I like this Harmon!!! I know I'm kinda of 'spacey' but I really like the application here!

Thanks Pal!

Splashette

Such a cute picture!! She is a star! Great work, Harmon!!

Hi Nancy,

Take a guess ... how long do you think it took for an

email from Janie to arrive in my inbox? Yep, she want's

original copies of her space-odysey photos.

The other image

Janie is the main reason that I have four hard-drives in

my computer ... so many photos of that terrific lady.

On the other hand I do have one complaint about Janie

photos ... she didn't send me a photo of herself dressed

as mother-of-the-bride for her daughter's wedding in Maui.

So what am I ... chopped liver?

Harmon, if you took away Janie's outer beauty, she'd still be beautiful because of who she is. She didn't make herself the main focus of her photos. I, too, wanted to see more pictures of her, especially in her mother-of-the-bride dress. She is cute, sweet, funny and unaffected, so don't take it personally. Chopped liver??? I don't think so. Can you tell I'm a fan of Janie along with you?

Aw shucks ma'am, no wonder you run around with Janie ...

you both are sweet ladies. My pleasure is to know you and

Janie and all of my other gal-pals of Geocaching fame.

As far as Janie is concerned she always sets my head

spinning like a top..

Honk if you know where this is.

Honk, I know where it is, but the sock violations were rampant.

Exhibit A to the contrary.

Hey now!

Not to worry, there's a resting place below.

Why is it no one ever looks at the picture carefully... it's obvious when enhanced a bit that he was BASE jumping... although the pilot chute and bridle have been tracked into that reddish dirt a lot... so are hard to see.

Too cool for words James ... that's a keeper! You are in the running

for best Photoshop edit of the 2011 season.*

Two weeks of sightseeing with Sandy through eastern Virginia

and in Washington, D.C. Hate to rub it it in but ...

Sailed and crewed aboard a three-masted Gallant out of Yorktown,

Virginia. When I say "crewed" ... they let me pull on one of them

rope thingies that hoisted the mainsail.

Something like 1,500 hundred photos to download from our two

cameras. Only six Geocache finds for two new states and D.C.

Drove through a mini-tornado along the I-95 and was rear-ended

by a Porsche that was launched into us by a Ryder freightmaster

truck near the Capital building.

* You probably won't be surprised to know that I have a personal

story related to your milk-carton edit. At five years of age in

El Paso, Texas I was kidnapped and locked into a tenement bathroom.

The best part of the story is how I managed my own miraculous

escape from the bathroom that was situated on the third floor of

the tenement buiding.

Now that you are an expert, you should come sail with us on the Californian. We have plenty of them rope thingies and we need people to pull on them...

Will I have to climb up tall, wobbly thingies ... fast?

You have to pass a test before they let you climb tall wobbly thingies.

Falling would be failing. Plus you gotta buy beer for everyone else on the crew.

James,

O.k., I'm back to y' on this ... I've been thinking it over

and am convinced that I will be better off pulling on rope

thingies aboard either the Susan Constant, the Elizabeth,

or the Discovery. Thing is that the distance between the

top of the tall thingies and the promenade thingy is much

less than the like thingies aboard the California.

Besides, they served manly grog rather than lite beer.

Here's what I don't get ... how come posted images don't get

you into trouble with our local Geocaching babes? Could it be

that I'm doing something wrong? ... no way.

I suspect that the reason I don't get into trouble is that I post pictures of anonymous critters instead pictures of our local Geocaching babes. But today, while I was out caching, I saw something that inspired me to try an experiment. I'll post a picture to see if I get into trouble.

Point Loma Flooded

As seen from this Google Earth image, parts of Point Loma were flooded today. The cause of the flood is not known, however the recent placement of a series of caches named Catalina Creeps is suspected to be related. This series was placed by a cacher named "FlagMan". Persons with knowledge of FlagMan's whereabouts are requested to contact the authorities immediately.

Yes but with yours there's two more if you're

headed the other way so you win four to two.

So spin a tale about how you met your husband

on Nancy Ridge Drive ... and fell in love and

so on; you know, you might have a romance

novel in the making.

So who's next? Post a green-light shot of

Jahoadi Drive and I'll give y' five bucks.

No, wait, make that fifty-cents.
