See, I'm not the only one that can't stand puzzle caches.

Hamlet, he's my guy.

(For east-county Geocachers ... a "bourn" is a stream.)

Note to Self: Call Flagman ... a capes & tights event would rock!

Trivia Time

The area of London that is known as Marylebone takes its name from a small church, St. Mary's, that was built on the banks of a small stream. Thusly, the name of the church was St. Mary le Bourne (St. Mary at the Stream). Over time, it became shortened to Marylebone.

Visitors to Marylebone will probably want to seek out Baker Street (home of Sherlock Holmes) and Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. The most important location, however, is a block chopped out of the Marylebone High Street, known as Thayer Street. Be sure to stop for a pint at The Angel In the Fields.

James, your are a fountain of knowledge. If only I'd

known when last in London ... so having a pint or two

on Thayer St. is to be "Thayered" is it?

Angel in the Fields eh? I won't go there.

Oboy does that help ... it really stumped me that

Jess had become a brunett and that John was bearded.

My bad for getting into a holiday rush.

Best part is the side effect of seeing a Forum post

WOTW Hide

No-one would have believed, in the last years of the nineteenth century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No-one could have dreamed that we were being scrutinized, as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets. And yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this earth with envious eyes; and slowly, and surely, they drew their plans against us.

I'm probably playing this game wrong... are there rules?

Anyway, this young person is obviously addicted to caching and has wasted his short life seeking more and more caches! Only rarely resorting to saying "please sir..." Strangely English sounding accent as well. Numbers are not that important, are they!

Wonder if 'oatmeal' will help with this cold?

That's more like it... Good rule! Now I don't feel like such a total wreck. Once I started putting the pieces together I feel better. Everything makes more nonsense today... Reba, the cache in OTs hand, the background object. That place needs some trees though. Looks way to barren compared to up here in the north woods... Even just a few here and there, perhaps the local namesake type to keep it regional. I'd let you have some Grizzly Bears cheap... don't know about getting them to go along your way peacefully though. I'll let the others play through since it's your game. Check your email soon!

O.K., in the interest of full disclosure, here's the full story on these posts.

A. For my birthday my sweet bride gave me an Amazon Kindle.

B. On the Internet I found a list of the hundred best books of the century,

mostly free from Amazon.com.

C. Since mid-December I've read forty-three books of the hundred-best list,

for the most part the old classics that I've not read before.

D. James of LLOT works ... or worked ... at Qualcom leading the team that

developed the Whispernet chip for the Amazon Kindle.

E. Photoshopping illustrations found in the old classics I've read was my

way of pestering James of LLOT because he deserves it.

F. Reading the old classics on a Kindle with the sniffles, you not the Kindle,

is one way to avoid the dangers of Geocaching in deep forest with lions, and

tigers and bears running hungrily about.

G. That Reba hide is in an area named "Sycamore Canyon." As you can see

Sycamore Canyon has very few Sycamore trees. Go figure.

Does any of this makes sense?

Yep.. that email is now sent... Thanks for the fun. I'm sure I got it OK on my own time.

I got to look at those ebooks, Paper is great but it's killing me to lug around these days.

>Out Geocaching with a

case of the sniffles ... shame on you, sorta. <

Figured if it worked for Martians it might work for big hairy bears... the rainfall only added to the sniffles.

That woman is amazing ... 20,000 finds and she

bakes cakes meant only for heaven.

Which raises the question how Harmon got his mitts on it...

(I suppose it could have happened that the postman misread "Heaven" as "Harmon"...)

When y' say "... mitts on it ..." it's clear that you mean the computer.

As for the cake it would be "Mouth on it." Truth is Jodi walked up to my

front door with cake in hand. Sounds like something that might happen at

the United Nations building, huh?

It's probably best if I wait to explain this strange occurence until Jodi

discovers what I've done and weighs in on this subject. Believe me, setting

up the prank cost me several days and evenings of technical support for

John's laptop and Jodi's desktop. Slipping under their radar ... that was

the trick. We'll soon see how much of a "practical" joke it turns out to be.

The best part of the caper is that she unknowingly rewarded my behavior.

I'm glad you liked the cake...that was just hours out of the oven when you cut into it. It's called Lumberjack and is best with fresh clotted cream. I got that recipe in Australia so converting the metric measurements is always a chore...I hope I got them right.

:D James...yes indeed Harmon did a good deed this week for John and I by tuning up our computers. Now I'm not one to brag or anything but he told me I'm Queen of Entropy. He says I'm the best one he's ever seen. Now I'm not much into computers but I'm thinking I must be really special to Harmon! He even gave me a new gigabyte or two...ain't that nice of him?

Hey everybody, bookmark this entry wherein I received

praise from sweet ol' Jodi and her faithful sidekick

John.

Yes, she's the Queen of Hard-Drive entropy all right,

79.7% on a 100% scale of disorder. Only took about

seven hours of file relocation to restore order. Jodi's

desktop was running on empty ... too many other fixes

to mention.

Three full days of computer maintenance rewarded by

an amazing Lumberjack cake, a perfect deal. (Now

there's cake crumbs wedged between my keyboard keys.)

Rich, heavy, and tasty ... what a woman, oops, I mean

what a cake. Is there any rule against being adopted

by a younger woman?

NOTE: Before it comes up, I have too much computer

maintenance work on my plate as it is, something like

thirteen systems each and every month. I'm not looking

for more to do.

Here's the odd thing ... each time I take a slice of Lumberjack

Speaking of Lumberjack...We stayed at the Thousand Trails Campground near Otay Lakes this weekend and discovered that a new cafe has opened there! We heard that the Saturday night Rib eye special was to die for but decided to have breakfast there instead. We had the senior special 4 items from the menu and free coffee for $4.00! What a deal! very good food served all day! I heard that the rib eyes were 14-16oz for $7.95..gotta go back...open to the public..shhh it's a secret
