San Diego County has at least one actual camel-cache,

maybe more, and LLOT has a camel odor about him.

Why I oughta...

I guess I can't deny it since that's me on the left hand camel. But I was really hoping that the penguin odor would cover it up...

As long as you are listing camel types:

Camelops (a North American camel now extinct)

Syrian Camel (also extinct)

Frontrian Camel (that's a Bactrian Camel from a different perspective)

Guanaco? Isn't that a brand of gasoline?

Now, how about a renowned poem about Llamas?

It's hard to get more renowned than Ogden Nash...

The one-L lama,

He's a priest.

The two-L llama,

He's a beast.

And I would bet

A silk pajama

There isn't any

Three-L lllama.

Nice work James, except ...

Except In the State of New York

where a conflagration is known

as a "Four A'la'ma."

Extinct ... see what I'm sayin' about th' odor?

He rode a camel and then he stincted.

"Frontrian!" ... now there's your crime against humanity James.

"Camelop" ... where's that old photo anyway?

My gosh, this is getting downright intellectual ...

so what about the dreaded Arizona Jackalope?

This all started to make sense when I realized

that "simpjkee" is an anagram for "Kim's Jeep"

as in Kim O'Hara and the Tibetan Lama only

Kim rode a camel as opposed to a Jeep, I think.

Does this make any sense? Does it have to?

Of course I've said it myself ... nothing better than

watching somebody else suffer.

One thing for sure, I'm having a lot of fun with the

30-day trial of Photoshop CS5. Nineteen days left

on my trial package so I sure hope that my delivery

arrives before the trial expires. Just considering the

new selection tools and the content-aware features

CS5 is to die for. Running Photoshop CS5 Extended

on a home-brew dual-core, 64-bit, Windows 7 host

with four hard drives partitioned eight ways totaling

1.8 Terabytes of storage, and twenty Gigabytes of

RAM. For an old guy I'm keeping up with the NAPP

crowd pretty well. Maybe one day I'll show some of

my good stuff.

So there I was today struggling uphill toward GC17WNJ, a major

bushwhacking obstacle course, when I realized that the top of the

hill along the western side was awash with Parish's Buckwheat.

It isn't often you'll see such a charmingly pink hilltop. Of course the

photo doesn't convey the beauty of the overall scene. Sure was a

delightful reward for a tough uphill scramble.

Haven't seen that much Parish's Buckwheat since working at Sandy

Creek Ranch way out in east county. The plants here just east of

Poway are quite small ... a third the size of the east county plants

where each plant makes for a lovely bridal bouquet. One thing for

sure, those plants sure grow well in dry, decomposed granite.

name.

Louisiana huh? By any chance have you met RocketMan?

Yes, he was a lazy guardian.

No, i have not met RocketMan. But i did hear he's burning out a fuse, out there ... alone.

fun to post a straight-line like this one and

Have a Heart ... or THREE!

by boysnbarrie

Chapter One

It all began on a cool, moonlit night as boysnbarrie arrived at the home of the kwvers! She noticed Mister kwvers! sitting at the computer looking at :) swan pictures. Mrs. kwvers! offered boysnbarrie a Stevia Root Beer with no sugar added, and she gladly accepted. "Are you bidding on a poker card," mister kwvers! asked? Amused, boysnbarrie responded, "Oh, I didn't really understand all of that ... so I haven't given it any more thought. Besides, I'm broke!"

"The bidding ends in just a few hours, so this is your last chance to get in on it," he told her. Mister kwvers! began explaining the whole bidding process for the GeoWoodstock 8 Poker Cards, and boysnbarrie began to consider the possibilities of placing a bid. "I think I'd like to bid on the Three of Hearts, which will represent my two boys and me! Okay, I'll give it a try! What card are YOU bidding on?" "The Two of Hearts," he said with a smile. boysnbarrie placed a conservative bid on the Three of Hearts, then lounged on the kwvers! VERY comfy sofa, and soon began to nod off (as she often does around 8 o'clock).

How's that for a beginning, Harmon ol' buddy? Is that okay so far?

Barrie,

I've been counting on you and now you are doing a great job.

I've already learned a lot; for example, that Kwvers is kinky

about swans, that Jim and Denise serve Stevia root beer to

guests, and that you drop by their place on occasion for a

soda and a nap. Exactly what one wants from a first-chapter,

immediate absorption into the story.

Right there, the swans deal, that explains a lot about the fact

that those two pals of yours are front-runners in our local Geo-

caching community.

Nice work on the opening by the way, so pleased that you

resisted "It was a dark and stormy night ...," sort of.

Your title is tops, "Have a Heart ... or THREE" Puts me in mind

of the old Charley Chan detective films of the 1940s. Now that

you've placed the scene so well in Chapter 1 I'm anxious to

see how you handle character-development in Chapter 2. I'm

guessing that chapter 2 will introduce some minor characters

and will expand the central theme of the narrative.

I'm all eyes Barrie, can't wait to read the next installment.

Will there be sex and violence and PUD cake?

See Barrie, already a following. Give some thought to

selecting an agent or you might want to go direct as in

Say, how old are the kids on your school bus? Or to put

it another way ... do they carry laptops and will they take
