Ok Picture People,

I have a 10 year-old son that just raked in some cash selling his Thomas the Train collection on ebay. (With dad's help of course!)

He decided he wants to become a photographer, and has about $200.00 to spend. Does anybody have any input on what would be a good digital camera in this price range?

(Silly question, I know you all have an opinion, but would you mind sharing it?)

Definately the A610. It is similar to the A520 but with superior image quality and more manual controls available. An excellent first camera for a beginner witha lot of room to learn enough to be ready later if you want to move into something like a DSLR. It has an excellent automatic exposure mode, too.

Click here for example images taken with my A610.

I like this one

*** This Just In *** - Trailgators, Ruscal and I spent the day geocaching with the infamous geobabes on their Wednesday geocaching assault.

We had planned to do the caches in Casper Park at the West end of route 74, but the trails were closed, so we ended up doing a bunch of caches near San Juan Capistrano. There is a great hike there with a bunch of caches along the ridge just West of I5.

Harmon and I had the same meal that Nixon had when he used to dine here at El Adobe in San Juan Capistrano! It was muy bueno! Great recommendation on the restaurant Harmon and muchas gracias to Dave for treating of all us to lunch!

Harmon, you aren't doing too well with the women. First you lose Yeshua's Girls to Cornerstone4 and now this....

Had to rub it in did you? Why I oughta ....

On the other hand I'll be spending today having a DQ Blizzard with the Geobabes so all is not lost yet.

Actually I admit being physically outclassed by that grunt Cegrube. What's an old man to do except keep on trying? Get it? ... keep on trying.

Almost got him this tiime

Nice Pic.

How come we missed out on the DQ during our Geobabe caching tour. Do you have to be a full fledged member to get that?

Being a card-carrying Geobabe guarantees a visit to DQ. On the other hand it doesn't hurt to find two $5.00 gift certificates in the "Trailer Trash" cache. ... darn right we took both of 'em. Chocolate-covered cherry Blizzard with extra chocolate bits, yummy!

Aiin't those two Geobabes th' sweetest thangs?

The ONLY reason you got them DQ Dollars is because I wanted the Billy Bob teeth more. (that tells you where my priorities are. Now my teeth look like I used all them DQ Dollars myself!)

Honk if you know where this is.

The MTRP wars continue? :bad:

Yep, a couple of MTRP cache war mercenaries. Ain't they awesome?

I am just hoping the war doesn't spill over into other places. I saw a certain yellow vehicle at the base of Iron Mountain today and I now see logs on a few of the caches up there. Now I am just waiting to make sure no new caches pop up!

Sorry...we found a place to hide one....got out the container...darn...no logs...so the IM wars will have to wait for another day.

PS Dude my DCR (daily cache ratio) is down...when are we going caching next?

Glad to hear about not having logs. I was almost out there hiking on those trails today for the 2 caches I need to find. I had to take one of my cats to the emergency room though and had to put off caching for another day. :bad:

I am usually available to cache every weekend and nights on Tuesday and Thursday (but only from about 6-10 at the moment) since Rouge has classes those nights. Within a few weeks I should also be taking a day off work almost every 2 weeks due to too much vacation time. I don't know if I could do any more runs till 4 am though (felt the last one for a few days afterwords).

MTRP War...Allied NAVY launches a secret weapon.

Supply lines are running thin...more containers needed!

The dreaded Gen. Cegrube Marx is showing no signs of backing down.

More to come....stay tuned!

;);) Don't forget to call for back-up if needed....J&J

Stretched supply lines and congressional budget constraints have slowed the Allied MTRP Forces somewhat. More boots on the ground are needed. Feel free to send pineapple upside-down cake to Logistics Specialist Harmon of SD Rowdies so's he can keep spirits up amongst the Allied rank and file.

Look for another dawn attack and deployment of Admiral GoBolt!'s secret weapon. A robotic Geocache is also under development. It will move around whenever General Cegrube Marx gets near it.

Hail to the Chief!

Navy’s secret weapon was a complete success!

Today FTF's were scored by Allied Troops!

Early indications show cluster bombs were too much for the aging Gen. cegrube Marx to handle! V

So Harmon, I'm guessing that you are Arthur and Cegrube is the Black Knight? <_<<_<

Gosh do I love knowing smart people, you got it right, King Arthur of the MTRP Allied Forces vanquishes General Cegrube Marx. Pictures don't lie.

Actually it's all for the best since Cegrube, at age sixty-five, now has a chance to become poster-child for Edgemoor Geriatric Hospital.

Sooo...It seems that Gen. Cegrube Marx has not captured a POW (soldier) but a innocent civilian GC child. He will resort to any despicable act to win! I hereby request that Gen. Cegrube Marx stand trial for the horrific "War Crimes" he has committed.

Long live Gen Harmon the Benevolent!

It’s possible this is an innocent civilian mistakenly identified as a spy :D .

Maybe this could be returned as part of a prisoner exchange or even unilaterally as a sign of good-will.

That is just a casuality of war that innocent bystanders get hurt! :P Settle with the family out of court and sweep the event under the rug by sending the apology to pg A28 in the newspaper and shredding all incriminating documents.

I've created a Magnalog of our more-than-nine-mile hike through one of the battlefields.

During our exploration, duganrm's excellent Geosense located a cache that hadn't been activated yet. We thought it belonged to one of the major participants in the war, so he took it hostage as a P.O.W. :D

Edit to add the URL of the actual Magnalog.

As far as taking a cache, how did he know that he wasn't walking off with an innocent victim's unapproved cache? Hopefully that wasn't the case! I wouldn't have taken it in either case.... :D
