+DocDiTTo Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 ... why is everyone making all these proposals if no proposals are being accepted right now?
+mini cacher Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Because they can. If TPTB really wanted to stop it, they could certainly disable that board, make it read only or prevent new topics being started. I'm pretty sure IPB has those functions or mods to do that.
+chstress53 Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 (edited) As I understand it; Proposals can still be made and discussed to see if other cachers like the topic. Since the posting of not taking any proposals, several new waymarks have appeared. I recall that a newbie proposed the Peace poles. On his very first post and within a very short time Peace Poles became a waymark http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...&hl=peace+poles Edited October 5, 2005 by chstress53
+tozainamboku Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I find it very interesting to see what sort of things are being proposed and in some case what kind of discussion there is about the proposals. The process for creating new waymarks is being discussed elsewhere. It may that once a formal process for creating new categories is agreed upon the suggestion made here will have to be resubmitted. Or that process may be to take what has been suggested here as a start for formally requesting these new categories. In anycase, I think it is useful to have an idea of what might be proposed to see what sort of problems might be avoided by having a good process defined for creating Waymarking categories.
