The question gets asked often enough that I wonder whether it could be answered, or answered more prominently, in the GSAK documentation. You don't need this number to use in GSAK - you have the option to use your number or your Geocaching name. If you click on the Help when trying to enter this number you get a description of several ways on how to obtain it.
