+zigfire1
Just purchased 60cs, and was wondering if possible to connect to an external monitor (such as in-dash) for easier viewing. I have been told by Garmin that the USB port is exclusive for uploading/downloading maps, waypoints etc. Not sure if some kind of converter would work or not. Any suggestions, ideas? +Docapi
A laptop would work, not sure if that is what you are looking for. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
If you have Garmin maps on your laptop, download NRoute (free) from the Garmin site. You can then use your laptop as a giant GPSr screen. If you have City Select, you can autoroute with voice prompts for turns using NRoute. Quote Link to comment

As the other posters have indicated, you're pretty much locked into using a laptop. However, it would make perfect sense for a handheld GPSr to include a video out port to use with the multitude of 12-volt TFT LCD monitors available today for a fraction of the cost of a laptop. Surely the technology must exist; even most of the smallest digital cameras include a video out jack where you can see what you're shooting in real-time on any TV monitor. Perhaps in the future we'll see this feature. Drew Quote Link to comment
