SerenityNow
Just wondering if there is a problem with the mailing system at GC.com tonight. I put in for 2 PQ's, they ran, but they never showed up in my e-mail. I checked the addy I used and it is correct. Anyone else having problems? Link to comment
W7WT
Yes, I put in just a short one and it looks OK but I never received it. So I ran it again and still waiting. Going on a trip Saturday so hope to receive it at least by tomorrow or I will have to load them all by hand. Dick, W7WT Link to comment
Lil Devil
I just enabled a PQ and it ran and was delivered to my inbox in less than 55 seconds. Have you checked your spam filters? Link to comment
globalgirl
I ran 2 yesterday - one came in immediately, the other never made it at all. Ran it again, and still nada. Waited til today, still no dice. Ran it yet again and - it came in immediately. Go figure. Link to comment
W7WT
I tried to run two last night. Both were here when I connected this morning. Dick, W7WT Link to comment
StarBrand
Keep in mind that in today's world there are possible multiple layers of Spam filtering. Your ISP Your Company firewall software Anti-Spam filters email rules Almost all "undelivered" email can be found in one of those filters. You may simply not be aware of all of them. Link to comment
globalgirl
Almost all "undelivered" email can be found in one of those filters. You may simply not be aware of all of them. No doubt. But... why would some PQs manage to make it through but not others? Link to comment
SerenityNow
No, this is the e-mail system I've used forever and I've never had a problem before with my PQ's arriving. So I don't think its a spam filter. It ran fine last Friday. Very odd. Link to comment
The Leprechauns
Try re-creating the query from scratch, if you're desperately in need of the data for this weekend. EDIT: Although none of your settings may have changed, there could be changes in the file data which lead to a different result (i.e., the query runs but the mail doesn't show up). For example, if on Tuesday the "Viagra" travel bug was dropped off in one of the 500 caches returned by your query, this has in the past been shown to trip spam filters that peek inside of zipped text files. EDIT AGAIN: Have fun at the event cache! I had really hoped to surprise you all by attending, but the circumstances preclude this. Edited September 30, 2005 by The Leprechauns Link to comment
SherwoodForest
Must be an East of State Road in town issue, because I ran two PQs last night (prolly covering similar topics as SerenityNow) and they came through right away... Insanity later.... And a happy Halloween to everyone tomorrow... *grin* Link to comment
Elias
Just wondering if there is a problem with the mailing system at GC.com tonight. I put in for 2 PQ's, they ran, but they never showed up in my e-mail. AOL is throttling our mail again. It looks like they were finally delivered a few hours later. Elias Link to comment
Elias
Yes, I put in just a short one and it looks OK but I never received it. So I ran it again and still waiting. Same thing here. AOL is throttling our mail so your queries were delivered several hours late. Elias Link to comment
JohnnyVegas
I have had problems in the past with getting my PQs. I think it has something to do with my ISP (Earthlink) I am not all the great when some of the ins and outs of computer systems so I decided to set up a Yahoo e-mail account and now I get them without a problem, Yahoo pretty much lets everything through. THe only thing I use Yahoo for is my geocaching mail. I am not crazy about Yahoo but I am stuck with it. Link to comment
robert
The only thing I use Yahoo for is my geocaching mail. I am not crazy about Yahoo but I am stuck with it. If you would like a GMail account (I prefer GMail over any of the other web-based emails), send me a note through my profile and I'll get you a GMail invite. That offer is open to others as well. (Please don't post a note here in the thread which would lead it off topic, just send me an email through my profile. Thanks.) Link to comment
SerenityNow
Must be an East of State Road in town issue, because I ran two PQs last night (prolly covering similar topics as SerenityNow) and they came through right away... Thanks for your help everyone! Link to comment
The Leprechauns
Seeing throttling from AOL big-time here. Owner and travel bug notes I wrote yesterday afternoon are just showing up in my inbox 15 hours later. Mail seems to come from AOL in batches of 25 or so messages all at once. Link to comment
Thot
I marked run three queries last night (first queries I've run in 2 weeks). Two of them ran and were delivered. The third never ran. So, I scheduled it again for today and it still hasn't run today. I thought the great purge was supposed to have cleaned up the query problems? Each person is still allowed up to 5 queries in one day aren't they? Link to comment
The Leprechauns
Haven't been hearing much about server-side query problems lately. The cleanup worked great! Until AOL started throttling, my new queries were being delivered within a minute or two of being created, and the regularly scheduled ones were arriving like clockwork. I'll be switching over the important ones to a Yahoo e-mail account. Link to comment
Thot
The third one, that I requested again today when it wasn't run yesterday, finally arrived about 3 hours ago. Link to comment
Markwell
Not the same issue... This thread was for PQs running but not delivering. Here's today's thread for the fact that the PQs weren't even generating. Link to comment
