+Polgara
As in this saturday, 10/1/05. Need 250 sq inches of orange to be in the SGLs for caching. Here are specifics, bow vs rifle vs muzzle loader to be expected at different designated dates. (borrowed from the PA SGL webpage: DEER, ARCHERY (Antlered and Antlerless) Statewide: Oct.1-Nov. 12 and Dec. 26-Jan. 14. DEER (Antlered and Antlerless) Statewide: Nov. 28-Dec. 10. ANTLERLESS DEER (Statewide): Oct. 20-22. DEER, ANTLERLESS MUZZLELOADER (Statewide): Oct. 15-22. DEER, ANTLERED OR ANTLERLESS FLINTLOCK (Statewide): Dec. 26-Jan. 14. DEER, Antlerless (WMUs 2B): Dec. 26-Jan. 14. DEER, Antlerless (WMUs 5C and 5D): Dec. 12-23 and Dec. 26-Jan. 28. DEER, ANTLERLESS (Military Bases): Hunting permitted on days established by the U.S. Department of the Army at Letterkenny Army Depot, Franklin County; New Cumberland Army Depot, York County; and Fort Detrick, Raven Rock Site, Adams County. An antlerless deer with each required antlerless license. These are dates for deer season, there are other seasons for other Elk, Bear, & coyote, etc., for the full list, you can check it out HERE. Keep in mind some parks, such as CHESCO (chester county) have their own posted dates on their park webpages. -Pol Edited September 27, 2005 by Polgara Quote Link to comment

+whistler & co.
Thanks Polgara! Every PA cacher should add the link in your post to their favorites list and check it before going out (or print out the schedule and hagn it on the fridge). People should also be aware that there is a lot of hunting on non-SGL land as well, especially diuring deer season. Quote Link to comment
+Salvelinus
Thanks for the reminder Pol! Just a clarification. "Non-hunting users of State Game Lands are only required to wear florescent orange from Nov. 15 through Dec. 15, except on Sundays. This one-month timeframe includes the bear and concurrent firearms deer seasons." Its still a good idea to wear it during all hunting seasons...as Polgara suggested. Actually, Hunters are not required to wear orange during the early archery season (October 1 to November 12). Here is a PDF file that visually shows what is required of Hunters and how much is 250 square inches. Salvelinus Quote Link to comment
