+Milbank
I use my gps almost daily at work. I do service work in rural areas of South Dakota and Minnesota. I mark waypoints in my gps for almost all the rural households I do work at so it's easier to find them the next time I have to find the place. I know there are website that let you put in a address and get someone's coordinates but I have found them to be off most of the time or I may not have a street address to use, just a rural route or post office box number. I know the category my not be very interesting, but I wonder if other would find it useful at all. Yes/No? Thanks, Link to comment
+NorStar
On the one hand, its a place, like any other place that you would log as a waypoint. On the other hand, the place is private. I'm not sure I would like to have my place logged as a waypoint, then have people passing by to 'visit' my place. Also, it would be too tempting for marketing people to search for addresses. I think it would be best to keep that kind of list off this website that has wide access. +Bill & Tammy
I think in a similar vein abandoned prairie homesteads would be interesting. I know many can still be seen along the highways of SD. In fact my families' homestead in Fairburn, SD is still there. Edited October 28, 2005 by Bill & Tammy Link to comment
