+The Seegert Seekers Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Just wondering why the Jeep TBs are more sought after than others. Are they all the same, or is each one different? Quote
+cache_test_dummies Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 There are two different types of Jeep TBs. Yellow Jeeps were sent out in last year's contest, and White Jeeps were distributed this year. The White Jeeps were much larger than the Yellow Jeeps from last year. Each year, the release Jeeps started out looking alike. Some were modified as they passed through various hands. This year, the White Jeeps were assigned unique names, but otherwise still looked the same unless modified by people along the way. They are heavily sought because you can submit photos of them and enter the Jeep contest (although you don't actually need a Jeep TB to enter the contest), and because logging one gives you a matching Jeep icon on your stats page. +welch Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 http://jeep.geocaching.com/ yes all 5,000 of the white jeeps are the same I think some people hunt them to get another icon in their profile. Others are actually serious about entering the contest for prizes (see above link) and I think some people have no idea why Their hunting them they just know everyone seems to want to find them lol Quote
+Airmapper Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I want one! I'll probably try to enter the contest, the extra icon will be nice too. Seeing where it would go next would be cool. Quote
+Thrak Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I recently picked up the White Jeep Travel Bug "Tobyn". I didn't enter the contest but I did move him quite a long way - California to Montana - and dropped him off. I took a picture of the TB but I'm on vacation and didn't have the capability (due to my own forgetfulnes - didn't bring the card reader along) to upload a picture when I dropped it off. I believe the contest ends this month but don't hold me to that. I was kind of surprised to find one at all - I'm a new cacher and had heard of them but didn't really expect to see one. Quote
