welch
I found a 2004 silver geocoin today in a cache. I think its really cool that someone actually released it into a cache as opposed to kept.... Anyways I was wondering if anyone knew how many of these were made? Looking at the wayback machine it seems there were only 250. Does anyone know if thats the real amount? or did they remint etc etc as sometimes happens?? thanks Quote Link to comment
Mauison
They're pretty rare so I'd say 250 sounds about right. There was also a .999 silver geocoin in 2004, limited to 100, that cost $35. Quote Link to comment
nielsenc
Sad. My brother bought I think 5 of these and put them in caches. They have mostly all gone missing. Quote Link to comment
Fundamental
Sad. My brother bought I think 5 of these and put them in caches. They have mostly all gone missing. That is so stupid! I'm glad that stealing other coins is not that common here in Finland and rest of Europe. Quote Link to comment
Eric K
Also be aware there were two versions of Silver coins. There was the .999 pure silver coin and the silver tone coin. The silver tone coin would look more like a nickel and not have the bright polished shine of the pure silver USA geocoin. Quote Link to comment
