bikinibottomfeeders Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Guys, this concept is really lame. So how many do you want rupert?
Rupert2 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 So how many do you want rupert? You know I am always good for at least two no matter how lame.
Prairiepartners Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Ok you know if it gets made it'll sell, especially if trackable, anyways we'll be good for 2 of these coins no matter what.
nscaler Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 You'd better check if there is a copyright on the image before going into production. I was using the Google Earth picture because it was easiest to get. I'm sure someone can find a open source picture with clouds (more realistic). There could be a copyright problem.
LadeBear68 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I like the CITO theme or will a CITO coin be next?
Kilted Cacher Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I like the CITO theme or will a CITO coin be next? I have thought about this one. I was thinking of making it only available at CITO events at one per cacher. Then as an added bonus having it engraved with the cacher's name to make it unique and hard to trade. This would make it hard to get and get people out to do CITO. Something like 'This Coin is Presented to ________ ' or anything along those lines.
SCP-173 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I was thinking about making an APE cache coin. Everyone who finds an APE cache can buy one, but only one! Just think, it could say "I go APE over geocoins". Then after that I plan to mint a coin commemorating the first ever archived letterbox hybrid. Maybe if you're lucky the French Speaking forum coin will follow. You'll need to speak French to buy that one.
foxfire949 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Je suis la bibliothèque. Is that good enough for a french coin? It's all I know.
junglehair Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Maybe if you're lucky the French Speaking forum coin will follow. You'll need to speak French to buy that one. Je prendrai deux si vous plais.

Eartha Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I love this. Someone posts an idea for a coin, and everyone starts ordering them aimlessly. This coin has not even been designed yet. I'll bet if I started a thread called "coin" I'd get orders. Don't put your cart before your donkey.
nscaler Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 Obviously you never saw the "Screw geocoins" thread. The guy was complaining about all the geocoin talk on the travelbug thread (before the split of topics). Then the orders started. Then I made a fake coin. And got orders. If you search, you will find it.

nscaler Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Let's keep this idea going. Ideas?
Mystery Ink Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 (edited) Three for us. Crazy, no coin, nobody to make it and we are ready to buy. Sounds like the stock market around here a couple of years ago. But I'll bite for two. Edited September 26, 2005 by Mystery Ink
SeabeckTribe Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 The Tribe would like two (2) please.
nscaler Posted September 28, 2005 Author Posted September 28, 2005 Apparently the "third rock from the sun" and coin# on a shuttle idea is being worked on.

nscaler Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 (edited) Here is another blank to work with. Has a ring for words around it. Edited September 29, 2005 by nscaler
magellan315 Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 I know the coin doesn't exsist yet and put me down for two when it does.
The Dillon Gang Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 These are cool! Wonder who gets the profit? Probably buy 5 as well..... if its tracked by gc.com i think it has to be non-profit
bikinibottomfeeders Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I love the numbered space shuttle
nscaler Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 (edited) Great Steve! Do we need to vote? Where On The Earth Is That Geocache? or Where In The World Is That Geocache? What happened to the "Third Rock from the Sun" idea? The shuttle side is perfect. Edited October 1, 2005 by nscaler
DLiming Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 I like Where on earth is ...... But either I think would be great. Dan
junglehair Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 I like Where on earth is ...... But either I think would be great. Dan I agree. "Where on Earth is that Geocache" would be better.
pdxmarathonman Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 The space shuttle needs to be a little smaller.
Cache-bert Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Does it come with a GeoMoon coin to revolve around it?
webscouter. Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Since the Shuttle is an American vehicle I would like to suggest a GPS satelitte instead.
IceCreamMan Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Since the Shuttle is an American vehicle I would like to suggest a GPS satelitte instead. Aren't the GPS satallites American?
Semper Questio Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Sorry, and I don't want anyone to take this personally, but I have to vote against the "Third Rock...". Just makes me think too much of the sitcom instead of geocaching and seems a bit too cliche. I like the shuttle but doesn't it seem like it's just kinda jammed in there? Perhaps a bit smaller as pdx suggested.
DancesWithMoose Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I like "Where on earth...." and the 3rd rock message. Hope these become a reality. Will we need a joint venture(capital) to fund these?
MikeOtt Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Maybe you could make it a series and do other planets as well! If its GC.com trackable I would be interested in 2.
nscaler Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 Let's keep the input coming. And let's find someone to actually do it (Jeremy?).
darus67 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Maybe you could make it a series and do other planets as well! How many caches are there on the other planets? I like the "Where on earth..." design. I agree that the space shuttle seems a little out of place.
