Plus if you were in the car and wanted to go find a cache, you would have to switch backs from the charger to your regular one and hope that the charge had given it enough power. Posted September 15, 2005 Share Posted September 15, 2005 What I would do instead, is to order an extra Etrex Battery cover, and modify it to allow 2 sets of NiMH Batteries in the Etrex, for a total of 4 batteries. This would be the equivallent of 5000 mah at 3 volts, using a deeper battery holder allowing a 2nd set of batteries piggybacking the 1st pair. This arrangement would not be any fatter than the extrex would be with the Charging Back they want 60$ for. Quote Link to comment
