Moving Geocache

Recommended Posts

Good question. We had moving caches once upon a time, but because of problems with caches placed where caches should not go, or with the environment being hurt by people continueing to look for something that was moved a half hour earlier there are now restrictions. See the first paragraph of http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#perm

If you can come up with a cache that can be tracked real time in someway an exception might be made, but that's about the only way I can think of.

I have enough trouble finding caches that don't move. :D

Why can't they work like hitchhiking letterboxes? Micros that are put in a regular cache and, when moved, must be put in another regular cache. Much like travel bugs, but they'd be moving caches that don't require you buy a travel bug dog tag.

They can be, but you just can't list them as caches here. Nothing stopping you otherwise.
