No on receiving someting similar - it looks like an attempt to give you help on a puzzle cache? You DNF one lately? I can't see your DNFs, so that's just a guess. That the sender isn't the owner of a puzzle cache makes it a bit annoying. Assuming it to be a benign attempt to help with some encryption problem, it's not appropriate for someone other than the owner to spontaneously offer something. Heck, even the owner ought to ask first. And it may have nothing to do with caching, I'm not offering to work it out.

This was my first thought.

It looks exactly like an attempt to give more clues.

"A-ha! A mystery. Watson, the game is afoot!"

Sheesh.  Chill out, it's probably one of your friends goofing with you.  Give it a few days and see what happens.  Getting bent out of shape over one email is a bit reactionary don't you think?

Im not getting overexcited, I was just curious. Ive been signed up here for ages and dont know anyone else (in real life) that is. I hardly ever post, I dont do many geocaches and all of a sudden i get a strange mail.

Just curious thats all

Hmm, lessee. The guy has NO finds, NO hides, has made NO posts to the forums. Yet he sends cryptic emails to geocachers. Possibly a spammer, so if you reply you'll receive a million or so viagra ads. There's also a possiblilty that the email contained a virus payload, though if it really went through the GC.com system that's probably not likely.

In any case, pull the flush lever...

No, no...this is interesting. Definitely not a spammer.

hello grambi,

bigarm here..

bigmar here..

bigram here..

Bigarm, bigmar and bigram are anagrams of grambi.

grampus??

gramarye???

Grampus and gramarye are words that, like grambi, begin with "gram."

10.40=50

vowl/constant separation

odds/evens placements

Don't know about this, but I don't have a good head for mathematical patterns. Ratio of vowels to constants in the name, maybe?

gr.ambition..

condensated..

"Grambi" is a "condensated" form of "gr.ambition"

milebi

unitbi

footbi

A gram is a unit of measure. Hence "mile" and "unit" and "foot" with "bi" stuck on the end.

So! The whole thing is wordplay on the nick "grambi" by a person who signed up for a single day apparently to write the email. I'm guessing it's either somebody who thinks he knows you and is teasing you (but doesn't really know you, since none of this is ringing a bell for you). Or it's schizophrenic wordplay by someone who saw your name and found it personally significant somehow.

Harmless, but very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I don't know what's more freaky, the e-mail, the person who e-mailed it, the fact that we're trying to decipher it, or the fact that I am really curious as to the true motive to the mail being sent.

IMHO, I would maybe create an email account through a free provider then sign up for a bogus account on gc.com then email the person back. Keep us posted!
