Gowenhouse Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Having never attended a caching event we would love to put faces to names. How would South West cachers feel about a possible event in the future? Coming from Trowbridge in Wiltshire I know of many many cachers who are nearby. Would you be interested in meeting up? Quote
mongoose39uk Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Posting this kind of thread normally results in one thing! You have just volunteered for organising an event! Quote
Stuey Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I've arranged three events in the south-west in the past which all went really well, so.. great idea. I'm sure you'll do a great job of organising an event (what with you being TV stars 'n' all Quote
The Wombles Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Kevin, An event around here (Trowbridge, Chippenham area) would be great. However. we may have confusion over which area you are talking about since the previous "South-West" events have been in the Exeter area? Quote
Dorsetgal & GeoDog Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Sounds good, though I am in Dorset, but if it wasn't too far off the public transport route I would attend. In fact I am going to try a couple of Wilts caches next w/e when I am in Salisbury for a seminar. Quote
davy boy Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Sounds like an excellent idea, plenty of caches up that way just waiting to be found,go for it.. Quote
Stuey Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 However. we may have confusion over which area you are talking about since the previous "South-West" events have been in the Exeter area? I'll happily travel to Wiltshire for an event as would many other Devon cachers I'm sure. I've had many day trips out that way in the past few years. There are some great caches.... and a million more yet to find! Quote
AriExplorer Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Sounds great! I'm a Somerset resident and I guess I'd be prepared to travel to anywhere in a 100 mile radius of Taunton Quote
kiteflyer Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Great idea, be good to put faces to names. Only ever met one other cacher when out and about so go for it Quote

Gowenhouse Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 Thinking about possible event over Winter. How would people feel about meeting up in a Pub with some sort of cache evnt before hand? Any ideas would be most welcome. Quote
The J J Noodle Fan Club Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Glos/Wilts/Zummerzet would see us try and make it. Jon. Quote

The Hoffies Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 I think we would like to meet the one that makes up half the entries on the "caches nearest to my home coordinates" page As they say 'build it and they will come' or something along those lines DTD Quote
Birders Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 We'd certainly attempt to get down from Berkshire..... hopefully our visas will be valid. Quote
Mike+Mary Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 A Saturday in South Wilts would appeal to us (we usually orienteer on Sundays!). Quote
