Ratone
I have wondered whether other players or other areas have a higher ratio / regular cache finds than me (only regular+multicache count). My ratio: 13 / 136 = 9.5% State, Country: Madrid, Spain What's yours? Where? If you do not have more than 50 finds the ratio might distort the statistics so please do not include yours. I can not start a poll so if any of you are able and interested in this, please consider this topic as yours and please initiate a poll. Edited September 10, 2005 by Ratone Quote Link to comment

Ratone
Thanks Atlanta. Would it be possible to know your ratio with only standard TBs? Geocoins and Jeeps are hard to find outside USA so in order to compare apples with apples... Quote Link to comment
the hermit crabs
My guess is that the average will be around 25%. Does it make sense? That's just what ours is, if you count only regular travel bugs: 92/358 = 25.7%. (If you include coins and Jeeps, it's 108/358 = 30.2%.) State, Country: Massachusetts, USA Quote Link to comment
Sagefox
Travel bug traders haven't checked in here yet. There are many geocachers that have up to 4 times as many tb finds as cache finds. And that is yet another spontaneous variation of this game. +AuntieWeasel
Ummm...36/199 = 18%. I really like TB's, but I like to be fussy about them. Usually, at a minimum post a picture and move it quickly, if not help it along more substantially. That cuts down on the number I'm able to pick up. Oops! +fauxSteve
My stats: Travel Bugs Only / Traditional and Multi Caches Only 31 / 352 = 8.8% However, I don’t really know why other actual “box-type” caches with logbooks don’t count (in my case mainly Unknown Caches, which often have Travel Bugs, and to exclude them makes this whole study pointless depending on what is popular in your area). So, I’m including those as well now: Travel Bugs Only / Traditional, Multis, Unknown, Project APE and Letterbox Hybrids 31 / 424 = 7.3% (it's 31 / 420 = 7.4% without the APE or Letterboxes). Most of my T.B. trading occurs in Unknown Puzzle caches, so it seems odd to exclude them from the count. Of course, I didn’t include Events, Locationless or Virtuals. Seattle, WA On a side note, I do know one local cacher whose ratio is 292.5% of Bugs found to Traditionals and Multis. At least you know that he’ll move them around! Edited to add: "Oh, I thought this was the Travel Bug thread!" Edited September 13, 2005 by fauxSteve Quote Link to comment

Ratone
It was not my intention to exclude anything, I was starting a pseudo-poll and had to set up a common measurement formula, any variation of the formula is as valid as this one as long everybody uses the same one. By the way I have noticed that average is below-around 15%. Quote Link to comment
NevaP
65/616 = 10.5% (no jeeps or coins included) 74/616 = 12% (jeeps and coins counted) but I know I got some of those bugs at events (can't remember how many) and I haven't included the events in the cache total so that throws off that number ---- OH well Edited September 13, 2005 by NevaP Quote Link to comment
bthomas
Yup, that WaldenRun likes bugs. I used to, but have tapered off with the advent of event grinding. About 950 bugs and at least 6000 is 16%. Quote Link to comment
Puckhoundz
it amazes how people like to "pad" their stats. I pulled up a few of the cachers that had alot of TB finds. Many were logged in and and out of events - basically they are just handling the tb and some events just hand out a list of tb with the numbers to log. how childish. Quote Link to comment
