What Makes A Good Geocoin?

Hi all,

I am considering getting some personal coins made up but being rather creatively challenged I have no idea what to put on it. I'm sure the local cachers can help me with that one though. In the meantime........

I've seen some really nice coins and some that are rather plain. I'm sure that there are some that stand out for one reason or another. Soooooooo What features make a good geocoin? the cachers name? numbered? website address? color? 3d or 2d? symbols? a picture?

Just looking for features that people like to see in a geocoin. Any input will be helpful.

Expect variety in the answers! :D

For me, the two elements that are cucial are:

1) Something caching related

2) Something personal

So a hiker with a GPSr, a Jeep and a cache under a tree....stuff like that.

I also really (for some odd reason) like primitive stuff (Mauison's turtle, Shop99er's Easter Island Head)

The best way is to look at coins -- see which you like and then try to find common elements that resonate with you.

My collection has 55 unique metal coins -- not the full compliment, but you can take a look -- there are some pretty ones in there (with more added daily ;) )

Some coins to look at

If you click the coin image it gets bigger for a closer look.
