SlytherinAlex Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 Folks Do the rest of us CARE if you paid, thats a personal thing Malcolm Well "I" care. But I take your point. If you have paid, then thanks. But you don't have to post on the forum. Anyone else who is thinking about ordering coins better get in quick. They WILL sell out. And quite soon too. a.
SlytherinAlex Posted September 14, 2005 Author Posted September 14, 2005 Anyone who fancies ordering coins and hasn't already done so? It looks like they will sell out within the next hour or so. After that it will be wait-list time in case anyone who orders, doesn't pay. -
+Haggis Hunter Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Folks Do the rest of us CARE if you paid, thats a personal thing Malcolm Hmmmmmmmm makes me think of Marmite!!
+Haggis Hunter Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 If you are about to sell out of your first batch, can you tell us how many are actually in this batch, and will there be more to follow, or will it be an exclusive club???
+macroderma Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Received my invoice day before yesterday and paid, haven't had internet access until now Looking forward to seeing them
+Papakas Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Thanks for the heads up Alex! (excuse the pun!) Stuck my order in as a result!

+Hi-Tek Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Folks Do the rest of us CARE if you paid, thats a personal thing Malcolm It was meant as a polite note to let Alex know things had been sorted - PayPal can sometimes be a bit tardy in its responses. Sorry it necessitated a response from you. All I can add is, in the words of my kids, "Whatever!"
SlytherinAlex Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 You can now check the status of your EU coin order. -
+The Northumbrian Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I only get an order not found message Nige
SlytherinAlex Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 (edited) I only get an order not found messageNige Took me a while to sort this one out. On your order, you entered your email address with a "comma" instead of a "full stop" between aol.com Try it now, Nige. alex. Edited September 27, 2005 by SlytherinAlex
+The Northumbrian Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 another case of should have gone to specsavers. no wonder I never get many email replies. thanks Alex, I can see it now. Nige
+Matrix Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 You can now check the status of your EU coin order. - Just tried checking mine and its says " No order found!"
+Moote Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Took me a while to sort this one out. On your order, you entered your email address with a "comma" instead of a "full stop" between aol.com I though you normally get an error when you have a malformed email address; as your ISP's DNS server checks that the domain exists, before it even leaves your email client. Or as I suspect Alex spoofs his emails with a bogus email address and does not use his ISP's email server for outbound emails. Milton (aka moote)

SlytherinAlex Posted September 27, 2005 Author Posted September 27, 2005 Anyone know Nick Squire from Lincolnshire? -
SlytherinAlex Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Today is the last chance for paying for coins before the spares are released to people on the waitlist. -
+Haggis Hunter Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 I presume to save you the hassle of going back and forth to the post office all of the coins will be posted at the same time? Do you know when you will be likely to send them out?

Do you know when you will be likely to send them out? I think there will be more than one trip to the post office. In fact I'm hoping that in this instance, the post office will come to me. I will start sending them out in UK/Europe on 21st October. -

+Haggis Hunter Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I will start sending them out in UK/Europe on 21st October. Not long to go now, got my mission and page all set up for it going live. Is that still a good date?

Not long to go now, got my mission and page all set up for it going live. Is that still a good date? Depends on how the jet lag goes and FedEx still have to deliver the last box of coins. But it will be there or there abouts. Alex.
+Haggis Hunter Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Thanks for the reply I look forward to receiving the coin.
+civilised Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Hi Not sure what I'll be doing with mine - keep one obviously, and put the others in caches I suppose - but does the fact of purchase and/or registering them on GC.com automatically give me the icon ? If not, is it legitimate to log one in and out of a cache ? Thanks - looking forward to seeing them. civilised
SlytherinAlex Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 It looks like the last box of coins has made it through customs in both Anchorage and Stansted, leaving me with a tax bill from both the US and the UK - deep joy. They are currently in the FedEx depot just a mile from my house, so I am assuming they will be on the van for delivery on Monday. There are still five UK orders that are not paid for. Email reminder has been sent. If there is still anyone who wants some of these magnificent coins then there looks to be enough unpaid German orders that I will have some spare to sell. alex.
+Dorsetgal & GeoDog Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 - but does the fact of purchase and/or registering them on GC.com automatically give me the icon ? If not, is it legitimate to log one in and out of a cache ? Well, it does and it doesn't! Mine arrived yesterday and i registered it. That seems to have put the icon and name in my owned list. I then dropped it into my own cache and grabbed it again, to start the mileage check off. I dropped it using a note as I didn't think it would be quite right to "find" my own cache, and that doesn't seem to have added an icon to the found list at all. So if anyone has any better idea how to fix that, please let me know! BTW they look great and well worth waiting for, thank you Alex for all your hard work on this project, it must truly have been a labour of love.

For some reason Groundspeak allows you to find your own cache and register it against your stats, but will allow you to pick up your own TB/Coin but won't register it gainst your stats.
+Haggis Hunter Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I see that the icon is just a standard GC.com coin icon is there any chance it can be changed like most other icon's such as Germany's or any of the others below, just to make it a little bit more personal. Or is this going to cause problems? Midwest Geobash Coins Michigan Geocoins CC Geocoins Maryland Geocoins Ohio Geocoins New Jersey Geocoins Compass Rose Geocoins Tennessee Gecoins
+Haggis Hunter Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Ok you can ignore the above post, I have just looked back at the beginning of this thread and it says you will have this icon how come it's showing up as an ordinary icon just now?

SlytherinAlex Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 They arrived 15 minutes ago and are absolutely excellent!!! I'm very pleased with them. Many thanks, Alex. Glad that you like them. Just so no one gets too excited, everyone who ordered either one or two coins had theirs posted yesterday. Anyone who ordered more than that will have them posted either today or tomorrow. It's half day at the Post Office today and I'm racing the clock to get some more packages up there. Hopefully everyone in the UK will have their coins by the weekend. alex.
