Apollo18
This maybe better off as a sub-category of something like "Industrial sites" or something, followed up with sub-categories based upon the type of power plant (solar, wind, hydro electric, nuclear, fission, gas, coal, etc). Location would be determined by the location of the plant sign and a photograph. Link to comment
bp_guy
Not sure that's a good idea. I don't think the Government would like the idea of us posting coordinates for power plants. Just thinking out loud. Link to comment
Clan X-Man
I do pest control for a major power company in my area and they are very secretive about their sites. We can't even carry a cell phone on the property. Security risk is one of the first things I can think of. I like the idea anyway, just don;t think it would fly. X Link to comment
GeoBlank
What other feedback is there regarding power plants for waymarks? Edited July 17, 2006 by GeoBlank Link to comment
Crew 153
Personally I can not see a need to have a category for them. 1. They are not a point of interest that the majority of people would be looking for. 2. A person lurking around a power station with a GPS could cause concern to the authorities. 3. A list of such facilities could be used for the wrong purpose. Link to comment

Jake39
Been there done that Here in Ontario you will find signs along the highways advertising our "Nuclear Power PLants" and inviting visitors to drop in for a tour. Previous string on "Power producing plants" Link to comment
IV_Warrior
3. A list of such facilities could be used for the wrong purpose. Yeah, because it's so difficult to find them any other way, like Google Earth...... While I find the idea interesting, I do think it could be difficult to actually get on site with a GPS to get coordinates/photo. Link to comment
