+The Fat Cats Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Hey gang, congratulations are in order! Baldy & Goldilocks claimed their thousandth find yesterday and they are both relieved and proud to make it to such an important milestone. Sandy and I worked ourselves silly pushing them over the top with their personal-best Geocach- ing day of twenty-seven finds. They started Geocaching by using the SD Rowdies account way back in 2001 while vacationing near Mt. Shasta. Here's a couple that met and married as members of the U.S. Air Force. Both retired, sorta, Baldy is a Stanford engineering graduate and professional trombonist; go figure. Goldilocks spent years as a Physical Therapist for Kaiser and still does so part time because Baldy is mean and won't let her retire. The story that will get your attention is that while in the Air Force Goldilocks dated Ken Mattingly, backup astronaut for the ill-fated Apollo 13 misson and then Command Module Pilot for Apollo 16. In the end it was Baldy that beat Ken Mattingly to the alter and married Goldilocks. That should give you a good idea of his strong points. So, puh-lease, log on and give a big cheer to one-thousand finds for this strang but lovely couple. (If you fail to congratulate them properly I'll be watching your photos for unbunched-sock violations.) Well, we definitely don't want to be sited for any unbunched-sock violations, so.... To a strange but lovely couple, Congratulations!!! Quote

Speaking as someone who knows his way up and down the slide, ya gotta watch out for those trombonists... The Fellow That Played the Trombone Now, the other night I took my wife down to a Music Hall. And ever since that blooming night it has been her downfall. She sat beside the bandsman, and he filled her with delight, The fellow that played the trombone, he stole my wife that night. With his rum-she-ra-ra, rum-she-ra-ra, rum-she-ra-ra-day, The fellow that played the trombone, he stole my wife away, He pulled that long thing in and out, he made her feel so gay, He really tickled her fancy with his rum-she-ra-ra-day. (an old Music Hall tune...) James and Barrie, Love it when right-thinking people join in on the fun. You two seem to have a fine grasp of what trombone-lips can mean to a woman. Sure would be nice if Goldilocks would log on and give us more of an insider's view on Baldy's strong yet flexible trombone-lips. From a man's point of view it's not the lips, rather, it's the trombone spit-valve that comes to mind when a trombonist begins to pull "that long thing in and out." (Can we say that here?) In two words ... dis-gusting! Rum-she-ra-ra, Harmon SD Rowdies p.s. Barrie, Thank you for the compliment on my "way with words." I've heard other views on that same issue. +Baldy & Goldilocks Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Hi, This is Goldilocks here. Harmon is badgering me to reply back about Baldy's Trombone lips. ------- Yes, those strong firm trombone lips and great breath support weighed heavily in my decision, but also Baldy had a whole head of hair at that time and Ken Mattingly was already bald at age 30.------ had I only known what the future would bring------sigh------I ended up with bald anyway---still great lips and breath support though!! Now-- back to Harmon----I have been trying to congratulate him on his 4000th find. I placed his handsome body in four unique settings where Baldy and I and sometimes Harmon and Sandy have found caches. Harmon has been my mentor in photo-editing for one year and I am finally having fun with it. However----I cannot figure out how to get the pictures on this site ----- His instructions have been less than clear---so if he wants to see himself with great words of praise and revealing insights about his character ,he is going to have to help me out-----hint, hint---- That is all for now--- Sincerely, Goldilocks Siner Quote
