Category Proposal: Places | Scuba Diving Locations

Category to provide locations of dive sites. Waymarks to include location of moring or shore entry, a description of the dive profile, underwater attractions, references to local dive operators, etc.

This would be a great catagory, with potential subs (shore/boat/deep/fresh/wreck), but is it of the entry/launch site, the actual top site, or the local shop?

if anyone needs a hand looking after this catagory, please just ask! as I work/dive for a living it is right up my creek ...so to speak

This category has my vote. I was going to propose it myself. After giving it a bit of thought I realized it will need careful thought put into subs at the start. Wreck, deep, etc. are great things to include in the hierarchy, however, I was thinking of three primary subs 1. Warm Ocean 2. Cold Ocean 3. Fresh Water. Thoughts?

After doing some more reading of posts else ware it seems that it might be more appropriate to include general environments (Fresh Water, Cold Ocean, Warm Ocean) as variables (fields) in the dive site listing so that a user can filter them in a search. The question is can the search dialogue be unique for each category to accommodate this? I'm not sure yet.

I vote YES just because it's a good category. I have no personal interest whatsoever... I can't even swim :-)
