+warthog
Hi there, I am a cacher from South Africa and think this type of caching/Waymarking would be great for new cachers/visitors to other countries, in order to show/take them to places / things they may be interested in, i.e. game/nature reserves. Would it thus be acceptable to create such a category where it would be country specific, i.e. South African backpacking hostels or SA Game/nature reserves? Apologies, if this topic was already discussed or listed in the FAQs. Link to comment
+dogbreathcanada
I would hope not. I would hope that the category would be more generic. Such as "hostels". One can then search "hostels" to find locations anywhere in the world. Geographically specific categories makes it very difficult to search out useful categories. Link to comment
Jeremy
Because Waymarking in itself is location-specific, just adding them to existing categories would make them part of whatever country or region you're trying to promote. The best thing would be to make those entries as detailed as possible. I expect as we move forward with this we'll start profiling regions and waymark categories to get people excited about places around the world. Link to comment
