+geodarts Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I realize that Jeremy is not accepting any new proposals until things are worked out. But I would eventually like to see a category for the hidden places of Point Reyes and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (north of San Francisco). Although there are a few geocaches grandfathered in this area, new caches are not permitted. The area is filled with historical sites (the Olema Lime Kilns, old mines, batteries that once guarded the Pacific Coast, Miwok village locations), natural wonders (secret beaches, arches, etc.), and cultural resources. It would be great if these could be waymarked so that people could discover them for themselves. The area is easily accessible from San Francisco and receives millions of visitors each year. Despite living in the area, I feel that I am just beginning to discover it.
