+reveritt
This evening, roughly half the links I click in this site result in my browser being redirected to the signup page for Yahoo Mail. Is anyone else seeing this? I am using IE 6.0.29 Link to comment
+cache_test_dummies
I'm not seeing this behavior. Running IE 6.0.28. Is it happening to your when you visit other sites, or just forums.Groundspeak.com? Link to comment
+dkwolf
First thing I would try is a restart, and if this behavior persists, I'd start making REAL good friends with every virus/spyware/adware scanner you can get your hands on. Behavior like that ain't natural for computers, and is likely the result of some bad voodoo. Oh, running IE 6.0.26 on WinXP machine. On a side note, download firefox as a backup browser. I personally still prefer IE, but do like the option of a 'backup'. Link to comment
+Langner91
Same thing here. If I click a link from these forums, it redirects me to my wife's Yahoo Mail account and prompts me for a password. If I copy the link to a new browser window, it's all good. I figured it was my wife's Yahoo carp messing with me. Link to comment
+Mopar
Sounds like spyware. I would be careful that the "yahoo email sign in page" isn't a fake to get your account info. Link to comment
+Langner91
It's a yahoo problem. The mail icon on her "Yahoo Bar" is and "X" and it is trying to access their mail system. If you disable Yahoo, it stops. Dang Yahoo... Link to comment
GT.US
I had the same thing this evening. I was trying to click thru from a GC.com email to remove from my watch list, and it kept going to Yahoo. I went through and uninstalled everything to do with YAHOO from my add remove programs menu, and everything is now fine. Link to comment

+Wacka
1. Take the PC to the window and throw it out- buy a Mac! 2. If you can't do #1 get rid of IE and download Firefox. IE is a piece of garbage. Link to comment

IE is a piece of garbage. For an option that won't cost you anything. You don't have to get rid of your hardware. Just download and install any linux distro for free. Link to comment
+Tidalflame
1. Take the PC to the window and throw it out- buy a Mac! Incidentally, throwing a PC out the window is about the only way to make it less stable than a Mac. Link to comment
+reveritt
I corrected the problem. I selected Tools-->Manage Add-ons and disabled the two Yahoo add-ons (which I do not remember ever loadinng). Both are contained in ycomp5_5_5_0.dll. Link to comment

Both are contained in ycomp5_5_5_0.dll. Here is some info on determing if ycomp5_5_5_0.dll is real or a virus, worm, trojan, spyware, adware, etc. Looks like Micro$oft left open a hole that you could drive a circus caravan through. BHO's are ... identified by the firewall as your browser itself OUCH! Link to comment
