Waymarks/hides, Finds/visits

Recommended Posts

On a locationless geocache, you either are a hider or a finder.

With a waymark equivalent, there are actually 3 choices. The category most closely resembles the hide, the waymark most closely resembles the find, and the visit would resemble a duplicate find.

Take the smashed penny locationless for example. There was a "hider" (Marky) and approximately 1000 finders. Nobody is allowed to post the same find (same coords) twice.

But with waymarks, you are allowed to post the same find. The first person to find an object in the category would post the waymark, everybody else posts a visit (which is somewhat equivalent to a "duplicate find" on a locationless.)

If/when its about the numbers, what "counts"? The waymarks? The visits? Both?

Most likely there will be separate stats for each activity, and also separate stats per category for each activity within said category.
