Missing Micro

What makes some one take a film canister containing a plastic strip with a few figures written on it from under a stone?

My micro near a beautiful Devon river weir is missing when I came to check it today.

Words fail to describe my feelings!!!!!!

:laughing::laughing::rolleyes:

I have yet to place my first cache ...

But I think I would be a little p****d off to find out that some cretin had gone and taken it.

I think I know just how you feel ...

I feel your pain! Pointless trying to rationalise how other people get their kicks ruining other people's fun. At least a micro is not too big a deal to replace. Nil illegitimi carborundum, and all that...

Sure its not still there, Just walked, maybe under another nearby stone :laughing: . One of my Micros walks every time I go to check it, the first time I thought it was missing.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Let's hope so! :laughing:

It's happened to me a few times, I always move it slightly so that if the same person comes back they may think it hasn't been replaced.

I've usually found that if an adult finds a cache they leave a note saying so and replace it, so it makes me think that it may be kids that do most of the muggling.

I too feel the pain that a stolen cache leaves :lol: , our new cache lasted only 6 days before someone stole it, containing quality items, but worst of all 2 TB's :anibad: , when a cache is taken it does not only affect one person, but many in the Geocaching family. Sending an Email to the owner of a stolen TB is like informing them of a missing family member, which is never a nice thing to do!!! :lol:

I've set a few town centre caches and I specifically use 35mm film canisters so that if/when they go walkies they are cheap and easy to replace and there is no sense of loss.

That said, it's still bl**dy annoying though!!

We've had 2 small caches taken, both had TB's in them and we really enjoy writing those emails. Going out tonight to check on a micro that has had 2dnf's on and isn't that difficult.

I do have to question why you would want to take a 35mm film canister with a sheet with some names on it!
