+dingermcduff Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 We were out caching today and my 3 year old wound up on the bad end of a wasp nest encounter. I got stung a couple times myself getting him out of that scrape. The log is here. (As you can see, the bees weren't our only problem on this cache.) Anyway, after we got him home and the panic and crying subsided, I asked him if he was scared to go geocaching (he'd never been stung before this) and he just smiled and said, "Nope." His momma on the other hand, she ain't going near that one again. Quote
+Langner91 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Give the little guy a ^5, or a hair-ruffle, or whatever he gets from you from me, ok? He's gonna be a great geocacher with that attitude. I hope he isn't scared of wasps all his life. That can be quite traumatic. Quote
+Team Dromomania Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 When I was a kid my grandpa would spit tobacco from his chaw on my stings to "suck the poison out." I don't recall that it really helped at all. Quote
PyroDave Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Go buy that kid his own gps hes deservse it. Glad to hear it didnt turn him off to it. Quote
+Ellteejak Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Please bring some pain relief medicine with you next time, and leave it in the medical kit in your car. Poor brave guy!! I know there is some spray on anesthetic, or sting ease, or something. I recently looked in a cache location before I put my hand in, and found a nice little wasp nest. Quote
