R4D4R
does such a beast exist? I want to find something that I can take my Grand Cherokee to with some dirt/rocks/mud involved. Would prefer the eastern side of the park, somewhere from Glenns Falls over to Lake Placid or so. It will be a two truck convoy, my ZJ and a buddy who is getting a Cherokee. He wants to get into both so why not combine the two Quote Link to comment
Muzikman
Hmm, I came into here to ask the same exact question, but only in the Western PA area. Good luck finding some good trails. Quote Link to comment
vulture19
I'm not positive, only reasonably certain, but caches are not allowed in Adirondack Park. Quote Link to comment
nfa
caches are allowed in the adk park, but off-roading geocaching would quickly change that... Quote Link to comment

Peconic Bay Sailors
The Southern Adiondacks have plenty of "seasonal roads"... (i.e. are not really maintained and not plowed in winter) that could pass as off-road... (you wouldn't take your Honda Accord down one)... and there are some caches along these roads... a lot of these roads are on county or town land, not DEC lands... also... a lot of the land is private and posted, inside the Park... esp. in the South... don't go down roads that go onto private property... some of the owners get mighty "tetchy"... try our Creek Side Cache and farther up the trail jimmybojangles Tenant Creek Falls Multi just North of Northville, NY... seasonal road to get to trailhead... usually need 4H in our Jeep Liberty... no need for 4L... Honda Accord would not make it more than about 1/4 mile in... Edited August 26, 2005 by Peconic Bay Sailors Quote Link to comment
rjw661
You might want to check out the "Utica Club Cache" which is north east of Schroon Lake. It's a rough road with a water crossing. Quote Link to comment
