+StarBrand
Biggest I heard of was a train car. What's the most number of firivilous forum threads started in one month? ...Shame on me.... No offense intended. Aplologies from the get go. Quote Link to comment

+The Leprechauns
that would be cool do you know where it was in the wood or out in the open im going for the record That's a famous cache, that train car one. It's hidden under a really, really big pile of parallel sticks. Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
I heard it was under a big wad of Spanish moss... I defer to Lep, a UPS seems Much More Likely OT, when Team Rebellion posted their 24 hour cache record (now broken) they hid the Team Rebellion MEGA cache - a roughly garbage can sized container - it's the biggest I've ever found Quote Link to comment
+BillsBayou
On the way to work this morning, I saw a claw-foot tub that someone was throwing out. Made me wonder... If I were to put the claw-foot tub where the hobos hang out, I could call the cache "Bill's Bathing Bums". Quote Link to comment
+BillsBayou
Found this: Makes me think that if I find a large enough Bald Cypress and I happen to have my chainsaw, I could carve one hell of a hidey hole.... Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
The biggest one I've ever seen was a SUV out in the woods. I think it was a Pathfinder. Quote Link to comment

+carleenp
what is the bigest sized cache you have seen? I have seen a 45 gallon rubbermade tub in austin. is there bigger? Is bigger better? I have also seen a Rubbermaid tub around that size. Unfortunately it leaked though, so things were rather damp. I don't know that bigger is better if it isn't water tight. But a really large cache can be fun simply because they are uncommon. Quote Link to comment
+welch
what is the bigest sized cache you have seen? hmm... some book caches, I think one was like a 20mm? box. Also found one that was in a bus. Though the bus wasn't the cantainer, the cache was a 1gallon plastic jar, under a rock, under the floorboards of a bus, down by the river (well creek actually). But it was interesting anyways. +El Diablo
We did an article in Today's Cacher where an entire house was the container. El Diablo Quote Link to comment
+Team_TNT
did one that was a 30 gallon can, heck of a lot easier to find than some film canister stuck in a tree.... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...3a-d6e245371abc Quote Link to comment

+BilboB
We have an old Cadillac that is the container for a cache up here in Vermont and I have heard of a Soviet nuclear submarine as the container for a cache in Rhode Island. I think that might win. Someone emailed me an approved cache that is the Earth. Anyone ever see that one? Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
The sub isn't the container. The container is in the sub. This is the same thing as a micro hidden in a knothole is still a film can, not a tree. Edited August 18, 2005 by sbell111 Quote Link to comment
geo_boy_2001
I have seen one in austin that the tree is the container its just a hole in a tree with one item in it you have to bring one a take one andlog on line Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
So basically, its a cache that can't be muggled, just unfairly traded. Quote Link to comment
+cache_test_dummies
I did one last year that was a 55 gallon drum in pretty much a big empty field. There were some low shrubs, a couple of scrubby trees, and some tall grass around, but really, it was pretty much a big empty field. I just went back and looked through the logs, and I noticed that there is only one DNF logged, by a geocacher who has found hundreds of caches. The log said: How can you miss a cache that is supposedly 'soooo big' ?!? Me not know, but be know me not find big cache. Me look everywhere. Me not even find small cache. Me had rough day today in NH. Me not like NH geocaching. Me going back to Mass where me find caches. Like better. Thanks for the kick in the pants! Quote Link to comment
+sduck
There's one here in Nashville that's a Kroger grocery store. Lots and lots of trade items, but it's not quite as simple as your average ammo can... SafePlace Quote Link to comment
+reveritt
Biggest I have personally found was a five-gallon bucket. Quote Link to comment
Warbones
Wow, that tree is HUGE!!! What about moving caches? I think I read about one that was a jeep. That count? Quote Link to comment
