E-mail Address Is Visible!

On GC.com, we have the option of "hiding" e-mail addresses. Cachers can send e-mail via gc.com, but cannot see the actual e-mail address.

 

When you access another user's profile page through waycaching.com, the e-mail address appears to be plainly visible.

 

I don't intend to make a fuss about it, but, technically, this would seem to violate the confidentiality we were promised when we joined gc.com. Probably just a little programming tweak.

 

Or, coincidentally, I happened to hit a couple of profiles belonging to members who did not ask to shroud their e-mail addresses in a veil of digital secrecy.

My email addy is visible and I do not want it visible. This is a must fix situation. I have a good reason for wanting my email private. Please fix ASAP.

No need to worry, you can see your own email, but other like me only see

If you search thru the list, you will find that this is a non issue. Only you can see your e-mail addy. I does not show up when someone else views your profile. It is confusing, but has been tested by someone. He could view his e-mail addy, but when logged in as his daughter, could not see it. Hope this helps...

Looks like your E-mail address is only visible to yourself. See this thread: Email In The Clear On The Profile.

 

It's nevertheless annoying: I've changed my address immediately after seeing it 'exposed' an had to re-validate my account.
