+treasure_hunter
What about Famous graves, I have visited the grave of Johnny Cash, JFK, Adolph Rupp, etc. How about it? Link to comment
+Tsegi Mike and Desert Viking
Also yes vote. Link to comment
+Bear Paughs
I definitely support this idea. Yes for me. Link to comment
+BalkanSabranje
What is famous, speaking of a worldwide community? Never heard of Rupp, for example (did he invent the cheese pieces?). Link to comment
+FtMgAl
I like it. Famous is in the eye of the beholder. The waymark listing should require a description of who it is we are finding and why we are looking. We first read the descriptions and if WE decide the person is of enough interest, then we go find the grave. If I list a waymark for the grave of Doug Parker, my childhood friend who was the first to jump from the William Street Bridge, and you don't think Doug rates famous for just that one incident, then you don't have to visit the grave. +Skippy and Pingu
Great idea. You learn a lot of interesting things with visiting such places. Link to comment
+cache_test_dummies
I like this one, too. This is an existing locationless cache, but it was archived earlier this year. Does the original owner get first crack at this category? Grave of a Famous Person Link to comment
+treasure_hunter
What if I edited to make it "Grave of a Famous American!" And let him have dibs on World Famous? Link to comment
+Maingray
I'd say keep it as the requirements for the archived locationless, which was a good cache. I wouldn't say any need to define it further. Link to comment
+treasure_hunter
How about a famous person who helped shape America. Could be a president, found father, politician, etc. Link to comment
Luffliffloaf
Again, perhaps this would be under the cemetery category as well? You could do like famous rock star graves, famous american pioneer graves, famous inventor's graves, etc... Could be pretty cool Link to comment
+Happy Landins
What about Famous graves, I have visited the grave of Johnny Cash, JFK, Adolph Rupp, etc.How about it? Yes I do like this idea, but on a broader scale such as Category: Famous People Life Landmarks So this could also include significant places in the person's life not just their burial spot. I think this category has enormous scope and interest - could cover historical people, presidents, sports, pop, famous scientists, artists, religious leaders, etc. Link to comment
+SixDogTeam
WE like the idea, but there would have to be a definition of "Famous" .... Link to comment
+halffast
WE like the idea, but there would have to be a definition of "Famous" .... I agree. You need to define famous.Alot of famous people in my area but Im sure most of the world has never heard of them. Link to comment
+Touchstone
There is an existing LC for famous graves (I logged John Steinbeck's gravesite in Salinas, CA), but otherwise I like the idea. Oops, see that CTD already mentioned the existing LC. What they said Edited August 25, 2005 by Touchstone Link to comment
+Walden Pond
Absolutely! I think this is desperately needed. "Famous graves" can be in well known or out of the way cemeteries. The tombstone or memorial is usually very interesting. I agree with the others that finding a famous grave is entertaining, educational and often enlightening! Link to comment
+Super_Nate
I LIKE IT I LOVE IT I WANT SOME MORE OF IT... Link to comment
+Tsegi Mike and Desert Viking
Ive got 4 famous graves near my home. One man you might not have "heard" of, but his contribution is very well known. The others are quite famous people. One at least is world famous. Cant wait to see this category set up. +tiki-4
Yes to this, as i tried to recommend something similiar: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...opic=107190&hl= NO to giving dibs to the previous LC owner. Any LC owner who archieved their cache without a viable replacement doesnt deserve to get the lock on the new ones. They got tired, thought it wasnt the way the game should be played, or just got mad and should not be on the list as a manager. Link to comment

You won't see it now, but on the Waymarking Forums index, it lists the most recent posts and what I saw made me wonder: New Locationless Special Ed Had me wondering just what kind of Locationless category would have us hunting down Special Ed students. +BillsBayou
What about Famous graves, I have visited the grave of Johnny Cash, JFK, Adolph Rupp, etc. How about it? May I suggest a second category for you, Treasure_Hunter? Infamous Graves. Graves of gangsters, Criminals, Dictators, Some Bad Actors, and Most Politicians (Louisiana's own Huey Long, for example).
