+Cap'n Dondo
Within the next year, our city is opening up one of the only underground salt mine mesumes in the western hemisphere. I'm thinking of working with the mesume director and obtaining permission to place a cache somewhere 650' underground. Of course, it wouldn't be hidden and if you knew what you where looking for, easy to find......but, is there already a claim for the "deepest" cache? And, is these even a good idea or kinda silly? +sbell111
I think its a great idea. Quote Link to comment
+Camo-crazed
go for it. although since 650' of bedrock doesn't make for very good reception, give them instructions on how to get there, for example: Enter the mines, go 70 feet down the tunnel, take the second left.... You get the idea Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
is there already a claim for the "deepest" cache? I have one in a mine but its only about 50 feet underground. I'm sure someone could beat that. Quote Link to comment
+g0t0pless
Wouldn't this be considered a buried cache? Also, mesume is spelled museum. It took me 3 times reading what you wrote to figure out what you were saying. But yeah, would be a cool one. Quote Link to comment

Ummm, you didn't do that, right Cap'n? I just assumed that a 'mesume' was something mine-related that I was too dumb to know about. Quote Link to comment
+Cap'n Dondo
Looking back, I spelled mesume wrong twice in a row! Wow...just did it again....hmm....well, since I can't seem to spell it correctly, I'm going to lobby that it just be changed to the way my fingers want to spell it. Seems, I'm typing impared.. +AtoZ
If you have to pay to get in then it is considered a COMMERICAL cache and would not be approved under the guidelines. cheers Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
I think you meant 'may not get approved'. Quote Link to comment
+Cap'n Dondo
Hmmmm...guess I should have read the guidelines. Yes, you will have to pay to go into the mine. Dondo Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
Work with your approver before placing the cache. It may still be able to be approved. Caches placed in pay-required locations have been known to be approved from time to time. Quote Link to comment
