Am I correct in saying you just have to visit the site for a "find", as I did? How will this be restricted in the future...they have to be wensites associated with a person? A location? Need some logging requirement for each site, but I can't think of anything appropriate for that (screenshots, making an account.. bleh). I can see that category being overly jam packed of links in time. Maybe I'm just missing the point of this category. Link to comment

You will be able to find nearby bloggers and visit their blog entries. It is an example about how location influences ideas. The Geocaching Tour Guide section is also a good example of a non-actual place but has an interesting purpose. Link to comment

The WiFi locations is a great example, I think, because one would physically go to the location. But bloggers? How is that related to coordinates, GPS, location, the search? Wouldn't it be better to just post the url to one's blog in their profile if they wanted to share it with others, without creating a meaningless category that doesn't really involve directing someone to a (physical) location or finding one? At least the other categories I've seen so far have to do with the hunt for a location. Link to comment

At a bare minimum anything listed should have a set of coordinates and physically be able to be visited. This one is like a few others that just seem anything is listable no matter what relevance or value it holds. Kind of like lets see what I can get listed. Link to comment

I still don't get necessarily that bloggers makes sense as a category, but I have to comment that I love the idea of the geo tourguides. In fact, I made that a "favorite" last night. I think it's a great idea, and people can log actual visits with tourguides. They'd for sure make an interesting read, and what a terrific service it would be to have guides listed for newbies and for those traveling out of town. I love it! Link to comment

I must admit I did wonder what the point is as its not something you can "go to" but *I* do have a location for my home. My worry is that it will end up with a huge list of personal homepages and probably links to porn/spam sites. Link to comment

Besides this new 'Waymarking' was meant to replace locationless, well you can't get less of a location than the internet. Maybe you should have to find a certain word or something like that to log a website. I don't know and I won't say. But that's the beauty of it, the freedom to be creative. Similar to geocaching, the creativity and new ideas is what keeps the experience fresh. It's just another step in the evolution of the site. Edited August 16, 2005 by beopots Link to comment

A waymark is a physical location on the planet marked by coordinates (latitude/longitude) and contains unique information defined within its waymark category. Unless there is some PHYSICAL location I don't see how this category qualifies as a waymark. I guess if the blogger wants to give his home address (which I doubt), or maybe the coords for the location of the computer webserver in some climate controlled server farm. Link to comment
