+NomadVW Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 (edited) What's better in this summer heat wave than places to go swimming that no one else knows about.... until now! VW Full Description: Travelling the back country roads in Japan has often put me along side a small stream. I'm often on my bike and am happy to take a break to strip off the shoes and socks, and.. well.. sometimes the rest, and take a dip! Growing up in the mountains of New York State, there were plenty of swimming spots on lakes and rivers that drew the kids to them in the summer heat. In travelling the mountains of Virginia, I always wanted to get the chance to take my kids to a swimming hole like the ones I had when I was a kid. You can look at the topographic maps and hope for the best, or just come looking here to find one nearby your planned trip. Take your family or yourself to a swimming hole this summer (and maybe even winter! brrrrr). Take the shoes off and get the toes wet, and if you take the time, take a dip! +NomadVW Posted August 16, 2005 Author Posted August 16, 2005 cleaned up a full description with some thought.
+chaosmanor Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 I like the general idea of this one. Perhaps there is some way of making it clear that you are not talking about every river or lake in the world. I know the spot that *I* would log, if it still exists. It was under a bridge and had a rope that we grabbed and swung out over the (and then into) the spot. Can this sort of idea be laid out better, without making it so ponderous that no one wants to read it?
+NomadVW Posted September 2, 2005 Author Posted September 2, 2005 Never mind this category. WM admin got to it. Locked and stuff.
