+user13371
What is the screen resolution of the Explorist 400 and the 500? Are they the same? I can't find this information on Magellan's website, and other vendors have conflicting notes. Quote Link to comment
+embra
It appears to be a secret, Lee. I've been wondering that since the product was announced, and I don't think I've ever come across it. Even the User's Guide just gives the dimensions of the screen. I can attest that it looks crisp and sharp to my eye, but you'll have to bear in mind that I am coming off a Meridian. Edit to add: you asked how the 400 & 500 compare. I don't know; I've been presuming the only difference was color vs. greyscale. Edited August 9, 2005 by embra Quote Link to comment
+user13371
It appears to be a secret... No kidding. Magellan doesn't publish it on their website or manual. The 100/200/300 all have the same screen, 160x120. Some vendors are listing the same res for the newer models, but REI's website says the 500/600 series are 220x176. No info given for the 400, as they don't yet have them. I'm inclined to believe REI's info on the 500/600. I'm curious about the 400 though - if its greyscale screen is the same as the lower end models, or better. Quote Link to comment
+user13371
And now that the Explorist 400 is shipping, REI's webpage shows it as having 160x120 resolution. Quote Link to comment
