+OHMIKY Posted August 9, 2005 Share Posted August 9, 2005 I am a new-bee in SE MI I've found a handful of sub-urban caches, and have lists of local area caches, but I am looking for input regarding caches which are challenging, unusual, creative, etc. What is your favorite all-time local cache and why? Dinoprophet Posted August 15, 2005 Share Posted August 15, 2005 I like caching downriver when I get a chance. I like the marshy Lake Erie terrain. I doesn't look like much cruising through on 75 or 275, but there are some neat old areas (and old caches) down there. Independence Oaks near Clarkston has several caches. They're all easy finds but the hike is pretty tough to get them all. Blarny Stone, Sleepy Hollow, The Overlook, and Tunnel Vision Quote Link to comment
+OHMIKY Posted August 16, 2005 Author Share Posted August 16, 2005 Well, a friend and I did the first two stages of Bill and Gary's this morning, then, cuz we were already in the park, decided to do Metroparks: Moo'd Over before going on to Stony Creek. Moo'd Over ended up taking the rest of the day - we had a very hard time figuring it out - which I guess is relatively common. Anyway, we will go to Stony to continue Bill & Gary's before we get the Metroparks cache there. Hopefully we won't waste a while day combing through forest floor debris next time. Thanks very much for the lead. As to downriver caches, I will get to a few of them, I am sure - but it is a long trek for me to get down there. Perhaps I will combine that with a Mudhens game some weekend. Quote Link to comment

They have a brief description and tell how far from I-75 they are Definitely got to a Mudhens game!! I just went to my 1st a few weeks ago and I had a blast!
