jdockstader
My wife and I have a running arguement about saguaros in New Mexico. It seems like everytime we see a national map with images for each state, New Mexico has a saguaro. She claims that they don't grow in New Mexico. I figure the geocaching community could help me win this bet. Has anyone seen any saguaros in New Mexcio? Can you snap a picture of it with your GPS? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+KoosKoos
Not natively they don't: http://www.friendsofsaguaro.org/factsaboutsaguaros.html I was just in Phoenix, so got to see a lot of these up close!! Quote Link to comment
+souperteam
There are other varieties that look kinda like one but they aren't the same. I spent most of my youth in NM and never saw saguaro there and I live in Tucson now and the folks at the Saguaro Natl Monument are pretty adament that they don't grow anywhere but in the Sonoran desert. The sonoran does not spread to NM so I have to vote with your wife...no saguaros in NM. Sorry. Quote Link to comment
