+BackpacknJack
I installed GSAK to my PC but when trying to install it (file GSAK560B16.exe) to my HP iPAQ rz1715, Microsoft Windows 2003 (Pocket PC 2003 Pro w/Outlook 2002), Microsoft ActiveSync 3.7.1, I get the message that this is not a valid pocket PC program. So what do I do now? Quote Link to comment
+-=(GEO)=-
You can't do that. GSAK is not designed to run on the kind of processors powering Pocket PCs. Instead, run GpxSonar or GpxView on your PPC. Quote Link to comment
+BackpacknJack
I tried GPXSonar first but got this same message trying to install it. I posted a message on their site/BBoard and they posted they would check it out but I have seen no answers to the puzzle. Thanks! Edited August 5, 2005 by backpacknjack Quote Link to comment
+Miragee
[putting on flame-proof suit]Get an inexpensive Palm, then get Cachemate. You will be caching "paperless" quickly with no problems . . . [flame away] Quote Link to comment

Did you download the 'EXE' or the 'CAB' file to your iPAQ and try to install? You cannot install the EXE directly on your iPAQ, that is a Windows executable and is supposed to be run from Windows. The installer will then open the ActiveSync dialog and ask you how to proceed. If you want to install GPXSonar directly to your iPAQ, click here for the CAB file. Put the CAB file on your iPAQ and go to town. CLARRIFICATION: "You cannot install the EXE directly on your iPAQ, that is a Windows executable and is supposed to be run from Windows." Windows executable means your desktop/laptop/server, not your PocketPC... Edited August 5, 2005 by PodunkPaul Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
PP's got it. If you download a CAB you can copy it to your PDA and run it. You don't get any choice about where it installs. Or if you got the EXE file you run it on your PC. then you can use active sync to install it where you want it. Quote Link to comment
+BackpacknJack
Thanks folks! “PodunkPaul“, you are correct of course and it installed as easy as pie. “Idiosyncratic“, sorry but I don’t flame and I sure would not if someone was trying to be helpful. Maybe someone will come along directly and help out with that. I thank all of you most kindly for your time. Quote Link to comment
