I will have my second edition and my husband's first edition wooden nickels ready in a couple of weeks. Anyone interested? Mine will feature a Clydesdale and my husband's (Wafflesdad) will feature his Belgian filly, Waffle. Yes, her name is Belgian Waffle. My horse's name is Bonnie the Clyde.

I know....groan.....

Hi fellow Wooden Nickel Traders,

I just sent out few emails to recent posters on this thread. However, I'd also like to set up trades with any others with wooden nickels or poker chips to trade.

Check out my Wooden Nickel/Poker Chip trading lists at:

http://www.utahgeocachers.com/GeoCoin/GeoC...play&OwnerID=85

If there is something I have that you want, and something you have that I don't, well then lets trade.

I must say I am now a Proud owner of a couple of your signature items.

Thanks again for the trade.

I will e-mail you back the answer to your question.

If I can just get a round tuit.

:( This thread encouraged me to contact M & M Hunter, to create some wooden nickels for myself! I've started leaving them in caches and am also interested in trading with others who have their own wooden nickels!

I am going to try to insert a scan of the nickels - this scan does not justify the final product - they came out really well!

Please email me if you would like to trade with me!

PS I need some help - how do I insert my photo into this message area? I've looked at the "IMG" area above, but it indicates that I need to connect to a web link. Thanks for your help! As soon as I can figure out how to get the image up, you'll be able to see my wooden nickel!

Thank you Ladycacher for giving me some tips on how to upload an image to this posting - I'm going to give it a try!

It worked!! The "Live Free...and Cache" is a take off of our state motto of "Live Free or Die."

I'd like to set-up some trades for our new wooden nickel, but I need some help first. 1. Can someone e-mail me instructions on how to add a photo to my posts in this forum? 2. What is the easiest/best way to mail the wooden nickels? We'll trade one or two our personal nickels for one or two of your own personal wooden nickels, not someone else's that you may have. E-mail me thru my profile page. Thanks everyone.

I just wanted to share the way that I've been shipping out my wooden nickel trades.

I bought small ziploc style bags at Wal*Mart, they are 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" and you can get a hundred or so for a couple bucks in the craft dept.

I put the nickels in those then tape the 2 nickels side by side to an index card, place another index card over that and slide the whole thing into a standard small envelope.

Postage: whether I've sent 2, 3 or 4 nickels they all meet the weight for standard 39 cent postage.  BUT...since they can't be run thru the machine at the post office, you need to add 13 cents worth of stamps to each envelope for hand sorting.  Also, if you go to the post office to drop them off they want the envelopes handed right to a postal worker instead of put in the regular mail slot.

Hope this is helpful to someone  :anitongue:

I posted this on page one of this topic and am reposting it here

I edited the info to reflect the new postal rates as well.

I really like seeing new names show up on this forum. It usually means more new wooden nickels and other items in my collection.

I've sent emails to AtlantaGal, Blue iis, ZackJones, and Sliver & Lucy requesting a trade.

If anyone has extras of other wooden nickels or poker chips, not already in my collection, I'd like to hear about them.

My signature includes a link to my trading list. Check it out.

The positive response I've received from my CITO nickel has motivated me to finish the design of my standard nickel. This nickel is now avaliable for trade along with the other items shown in my eariler posts.

Thanks to everyone with whom I have been able to trade and I look forward to more.

How is this nickel produced? Is it handpainted or professionally printed? It looks great. Our first wooden nickel was pretty basic, nothing special and we're looking to do something a little nicer this time.

Thanks,

3 Happy Campers

My nickel was created with Avery 1-1/2" round ink-jet labels and a coat of clear polyurethane.

I don't know if my sig token is considered a wooden nickel. It's a wooden disk with a label sealed on. I certainly never thought anyone would be interested in it, but I posted a pic of it on another thread, just to show off my guys. I can't believe the requests I have had for them! Since I apparently need to make a few more, if anyone is interested in one by all means let me know!

I always like following AG, she has such neat toys!!!

I have a nickel, which has been liberally spread in caches in all four corners of the country, just havent made it back into the center in a few years, but summer is comming :D, so some have already come across them.

I sent emails to everyone i saw, whose nickel i didnt already have, so hopefully i will be getting replies soon. :D

My nickel can be seen via the site on my signature. :D

Thanks to LC&B for bringing this back into the light. I forgot how much character there is in the nickels with all the attention on geocoins of late. ;)
